If he can finish out the last half of the season strong, I think he will be. He's already checking down the receivers better. Not forcing the ball to Watson anymore. He's making great strides without a really good running game. Aaron Jones has been hurt all season, not 100%. He's playing with the youngest offense in the NFL. The kid is impressing me as of late, especially. I hope he keeps it going!!!! Go Pack!!!

Crazy thing is Love's & Rodgers numbers are almost identical through their first 11 starts. With the only differences being completion % Rodgers: 64% Love: 60% & INTs Rodgers:10 Love:11. That being said Rodgers took over a team that was in the NFCCG the season prior, while Love took over the youngest team & one that had missed the playoffs last year. They have a better record through 11 games this year as opposed to last as well.

Check out Rodgers/Love stats first year as starter. They’re eerily similar. After 12 starts both were 5-7. Love attempts-406 yards-3,033 passing TD’s-20 INT-11 Rodgers attempts-404 yards-3,085 passing TD’s-20 INT-11

There’s no doubt Love was a project QB, but the reason why he was considered a top QB in the draft was because he had freakish arm talent coming out of college. He was mahomes-like, off-platform, side arm, back foot bombs, even on the run too. Really athletic and could run if needed. He was freakish and it was clear when you watched him at Utah state. He never played top comp, but his talent was undeniable. A boom or bust prospect just like a josh Allen and a Patrick mahomes. Green Bay has a great way to draft and develop players and they’re doing just that. He’s been better and better at every phase of the nfl and it’s only up from here. #gopackgo

I understood the move when they drafted him. I liked Jordan Love coming out of the draft as well. I remember on Madden with custom drafts, I drafted both Love and Dillon for fun without realizing we'd take them both. So I've been on the JLo bandwagon since we got him. Obviously another SB with Rodgers would've been nice, but I know we'll be in good hands with Love

There may be something to be said about this method. Letting a rookie have some time to cool after being at the top of their league (NCAA) while sitting under HOF talent just makes sense. Otherwise, the jump from college to pros proves to be too drastic all at once for most QBs and can kill their confidence.

Rogers with a great line in front of him and very good offense as of late lost two NFC championships at Lambeau in January Tampa bay from Florida and the 49 ear’s from California where 49er’s QB never threw a touchdown in the game and eliminated the Packers. I guess what I’m saying is both Farve and Rogers gave us some pleasurable games to watch but neither got us more than one Super Bowl in all the years they were in Greenbay. So give Love a chance to prove himself, you have nothing to lose and everything to gain.

Don’t forget the NFC championship game against the Seahawks where they lost in the last 5 minutes of football. Clinton-Dix in la la land during the last two point conversion and an onside return because a guy not qualified to catch an onside flopped the catch. I would say Love is already a Top 10 QB, especially considering the weapons around him (how many QBs would be making plays with Malik Heath, Dontayvion Wicks, and Tucker Kraft?). I think it's also a byproduct of coaching, as Matt Lafleur has been exceptional during this past stretch. I think Love is just getting started and will have an ascending career for the Packers. Will he reach Rodgers and Farve levels? Hard to say - probably a 40% chance. He doesn't have a yearning for the spotlight or stardom as those two did. But we will see where it evolves. The fact that simple-minded people like Stephen A and Colin Cowherd are now coming to realization that they were initially wrong on Love, is a good sign

The Packers did sign players during Rodgers back to back MVP seasons that they would not normally sign. They brought in the Smiths and retained Aaron Jones and others. While not mainstream, this helped. Unlike many other franchises, the Packers generally prioritize the future ahead of this season or any short term gains. Right or wrong, this is how they have operated for a long time. Look at the Patriots, Saints and Tampa Bay and others. Those teams did not have a solid plan for after their long term QB left the organization. This method has flaws as noted with the 49ers and Trey Lance. With all that said, the Packers operate in "windows" instead of seasons. The way I see it, the Love window is just getting cracked open. Is Love Rodgers? Nope. Can the Packers win with Love? Seems that way. Let's watch him develop. The Packers need to help Love out by establishing a running game that works first and foremost before I can tell you if he might be a top 10 QB. My two cents anyways, do not care to argue with people in the chat.

A couple things, 1 Favre is absolutely right, Favre to Rodgers and Rodgers to Love are completely different situations, and not only that the circumstances on how and why the Packers drafted each QB (except Favre he was a trade) are also different, and let's not forget the QB's attitudes at the time before each pick. Favre kept retiring and unretiring, this annoyed everyone including me back then, he did this multiple times. Rodgers was a complete accident, he was supposed to go #1 overall! He fell like you said to where the Packers got him, and they didn't even trade up to get him, every other team passed on him which in hindsight is utterly hilarious. Favre also refused to mentor Rodgers, they did not like each other at first. They patched things up after Favre's career (until his recent antics), but that stayed with Rodgers, which is why Rodgers didn't make the same mistake with Love, Rodgers was the 1st person to call and congratulate Love despite his understandably pissed off reaction to the draft. Rodgers also was NOT retiring and unretiring prior to the pick, he wanted to retire as a Packer, but the front office had other plans, I firmly still believe the Packers treated Rodgers like how they should've treated Favre, they were basically kicking out Rodgers as fast as they could, and Rodgers knew it and made them pay. We only saw his bizarre behavior start afterwards because he was slighted, and he's always been slighted even during his Butte Community College days (look at how he's handling his injury). Here's the thing, Rodgers was still more than happy to mentor Love, there are elements of Love's game where he is emulating Rodgers (he really shouldn't Love should play like Love but whatever works for him). Lots of people I've noticed memory holed ALL of what I said, but I haven't forgotten, what the Packers front office did and how they handled this situation was all kinds of wrong, I get it, it's the business at the end of the day, it's like they hadn't learned from Favre. 2, Rodgers was drafted in 2005, he didn't start until 2008, he sat for 3 years too. 3, As for Love, I never hated him as a player/person, I too simply hated the Pick, dude was a project player, another major difference between him and Rodgers, Rodgers did need a couple mechanics adjustments but he was honestly already ready to play, he balled out in the 2006 pre-season, and in 2007 nearly got the Packers to beat the Cowboys when Favre got a rare injury, which is how the Packers knew he was ready to play. Love, was a project player like you said, a guy who would've been there at 30th overall, maybe even in the 2nd/3rd round! The exact kind of player you DON'T draft in the 1st round let alone trade up for. Which again goes back to Favre's point on different circumstances. Like everything though, hindsight is 20/20. All I ask for now is for Love to be good and man after that Bears game things got hard to watch, we were losing to dumb head coaches and bad teams, 2 coaches have already been fired that we played against (McDaniels, and Matt Canada the OC of the Steelers) and lost to! He's been good the past few games but I still prefer waiting to see, and unfortunately the Packers organization is waiting too, Rodgers got an immediate extension in his 1st season, Love may have to wait until after this year, or maybe even next year, and to me THAT is not a good sign! This is considering the NFC is at its weakest ever with some of the worst QB play and offensive play calling I've ever seen, and a 10-1 Eagles team that doesn't even look good, the fact the Packers are 5-6 losing to some very bad teams including a Broncos team that lost 70-20 to the Dolphins is inexcusable. I was 100% agreeing with Rasul too about the state of the team, losing is unacceptable, doesn't matter how young the team is, the team has to grow up, but that's also on the coach, he's been outcoaching himself a lot this year, and the team looks unprepared most of the time and playing scared football. Am I expecting playoffs, division, or superbowl? HELL NO! But I'm still on the fence with Love, I'm not going to say he's elite/future HoF yet, he had that game vs the Raiders where he threw 0 td's and 3 int's, something Rodgers NEVER DID IN HIS CAREER! Now I'll be fair, I have to stop comparing him to Rodgers, but he's not like Favre either, Love is still Love, he plays a different style. I'll give the Packers one thing of credit though, despite this whole ordeal the past few years, they're the only team willing to draft a QB, sit him, and make them grow and develop, you don't see other teams doing that for 3 years! sorry for the Novel for a comment

But I would like to bring another perspective to your attention. The Broncos shortly after that massive loss to the Fins had traded away 2 key defensive players that really made the whole Russ and Sean Payton trades look really bad. I didn’t see Russ as “Cooked” I saw last years Broncos as the coaching wasn’t the right fit. Fast forward to now, from the deep murmurs I read on IG and X formerly Twitter. The Broncos trading away these 2 players were the best thing for them because they were bad in the locker room, bad apples spoiling the bunch. So when they won against the J Love and the Packers it was a win they needed to rally the men. BUT!! I still think our team at the time was still very young and needed some time figure things out. Grow and learn together. Look at the panthers. Our situations are different but not too different. They drafted #1 over all and have the best rookie QB according to everyone. They have a very young WR core with one vet who I really wish we had. A running back core that has an experienced player, sanders and fairly young buck in Chuba Hubbard. They had a very well regarded HC that prior to Carolina had a carousel of quarterbacks for the Colts. But yet the only “young team that’s really showing growth is Green Bay and J Love.” Now, you might say but wait the Texans! And I will say yes but I think they have hit there peak this year and have plateaued. To me, it seems like CJ Stroud walked in that building and said I am going to throw for 500 yards every game get open guys. I really like what CJ Stroud is doing there for the Texans but I want to see what he’s going to do next year as well. he is their guy. OK I feel like I rambled on a little bit but I felt like it needed some backstory to see my view. As for your comment number three I’d agree with you. I do not hate Jordan Love. I’m almost ready to buy his jersey. I agree with you. He probably would’ve been there at 30 but we don’t know that I know there are times where teams will draft a player to mess up another team or not draft a player to let another team draft it to mess up another team so he may have been there for 30 probably would’ve been. I don’t think he would’ve been there in the third round. I would’ve paid him mid second for Jordan Love, I think he would’ve went around where Jalen hurts went that year.

This comment is why Packer fans get the reputation for being spoiled. Rodgers in 2020 was a soon to be 37 year old QB in the tail end of his prime and the packers needed a succession plan at the position so that we don't enter into QB purgatory like so many other teams. Love was drafted because the Packers had the LUXURY of letting a talented project QB develop precisely bc of Rodgers great play. If the project works out then great you have your QB of the future, if it doesn't then great you end up drafting a QB high in the draft bc your team will likely stink. This was a gutsy and great decision by the Packers bc the reality is a first round pick at another position wouldn't have made or break the Packers super bowl aspiration at that time anyway.

Just my short take...Rodgers threw to Adams 85 % of the time and dont like young recievers, so drafting any other rookie recievers would have been the results of last season, he didnt associate or lead the young recievers.. It wasn't one of the "most outrageous draft day decisions in NFL history." It was a gutsy and wise decision because the Packers had NO succession plan at QB with an aging QB who was at the end of his prime. The reality is a first round pick wouldn't have made or break their Super Bowl chances. The Packers are a world class organization for a reason so people should probably take notes and learn instead of being so quick to crap on moves that they don't understand.

What people seem to forget is that Rodgers should have never been drafted by the packers. Almost all the way up to the 2005 draft he was the number one pick. And would have been hadn’t the 49ers fell in love with Alex smith who wasn’t a bad qb just wasn’t great. And at the time none of the other 22 teams either needed a qb or were willing to spend money to draft a qb high. Wouldn’t have been the case now with rookie contracts set. Also your timeline is off GB before the 2005 draft had a winning record but lost in the playoffs to the Vikings. But by that time Mike Sherman got demoted from GM and was replaced by Ted Thompson who was part of Ron Wolf Team in 1992 as was a scout name Brian Gutekunst. Their philosophy was to “trust their board”. So when Rodgers fell to them in 2005 to 24 even though they had other needs they trusted their board and pick Rodgers. Which I remember pissed a lot of fans off. Because we still felt if Farve had a better defense could take us back to the SB. And was really back in 2007-08. In 2020 I really didn’t know much about love but looking at the clips I think much like Rodger he intrigued a lot of scouts an and pundits but ultimately his last season did him in with the most ints however his coaching and players were all replaced from the previous season when he did much better. I too think even though the GM is different the philosophy that wolf brought in and Thompson followed was still the same. Trust their board. I think that no player either defensively of offensively match what love had. So they traded a 4th rounder and a 1st to go up a few spots. Which may seem a lot but remember how much sf gave for that other guy the next year? People forget because Purdy bailed them out.

I think from the get-go, the draft pick was more complicated than it's often portrayed as, for reasons that kind of get lost in the shuffle. First off, Rodgers was starting to look like he was on the down end of his career. Obviously we know *now* that he still had two MVP seasons left to give, but if you'd asked any fan prior to 2020 if they realistically thought that would happen, I think the answer would've been no. (And it's still an open question whether the Love pick was a part of why that happened at all.) Secondly, while the favorite alternate scenario is Tee Higgins, I think there's a good chance they were never going to pick him. The Packers have a profile that they like and Higgins didn't fit it. (And to be fair to the Packers, when they've deviated too far in the past, it comes back to bite them more often than not.) If you get rid of the assumption that it would've been Higgins if it wasn't Love, it gets a lot muddier. Maybe they could've gotten an impact player... or maybe they end up drafting a player who turns out to be a disappointment if not a total bust (e.g., what if they *were* thinking O line and they ended up going with Isaiah Wilson -- no short term gain whatsoever, and they'd be in a worse position now). Third, while the Packers' o-line was a problem in the playoffs in 2020, the main cause of that was David Bakh tearing his ACL; not only was that completely unforeseeable, but I don't know that a rookie would've actually been an improvement over the veteran backups they ended up using. (And frankly, there weren't really a lot of good O lineman, and especially not tackles, left on the board by the time they picked anyway.)

The whole Jordan Love saga has been on one botch after another, but if he works out... well history is written by the winners and even re written. Drafting Love was a knee jerk reaction to Rodgers ever so slight decline. If this front office had an ounce of actual confidence in Love like they claimed, they never would've re signed Rodgers to that last contract, which is the reason this very season is so crippled in the salary cap. Instead they chased Rodgers out because of hurt feelings and things he says in public about certain issues, In another show of how in truth they had little confidence in Love, they sign him to one a 1 year prove it deal. If they truly had the confidence in him that they said they did, they should've signed him to a cheap multi year deal and had a franchise QB for half the going rate- the ultimate competitive advantage. Now though if Love turns out to be a franchise QB GB will have to pay full price, $50+ mil a year instead of the oh... $30-$35 mil a year deal they could've signed him for this year.

This is nice and all, and I'm happy with the way the situation is going right now. However, I still think that drafting Love was a mistake. We had a window of opportunity to improve our team with a proven all-time great QB in Aaron Rodgers. I feel like we have to take advantage of that opportunity to get back to the Super Bowl. Rodgers winning one Super Bowl with us is great, but the tragedy is us only getting to one Super Bowl in his tenure. Obviously, we had our chances, with the greatest blunder being the 2014 NFCCG (in which we should have won it all). But, whether it be not drafting new offensive weapons, or holding onto outdated defensive coordinators for 2-3 years too long, you can always count on the GB executives to do something wrong. I'm happy for Love. I like Love. But, I think drafting him over an offensive weapon was a mistake when you're within a window of opportunity to win it all. But then again, there's a whole argument to be made for Dom Capers holding us back in Aaron's prime as well.

I took a lot of hate when I was happy about the Jordan love pick a few years back. I was one of the few supporters. Aaron Rodgers was starting to be gimped for what felt like half of his play time. He was getting older. He was starting to underperform. At the VERY least I was okay with love being a backup QB instead of paying for a good one in FA. That’s cap that can be spent somewhere else. Everyone always wants to sell out for a SB and wonder why the team went to shit.Seen it happen to way too many teams. Part of the packers success has been the management of the team. Draft and development. It’s been like that for 30 years so why change it if it’s working. Not to mention…know what team picked behind the packers? THE PATRIOTS, who at the time were on the hunt for a QB. Can you imagine if he went there and the evil empire turned him into the next Brady? No thanks man. And people seem to forget the packers got AJ Dillion a pick after and whined “you got Rodgers no weapons” I’m not sold yet and no one in packers land should be. But we sure as hell can’t be disappointed either

“No new weapons” people always forget the packers defense was notoriously bad after we lost players from our SB campaign. The one that hurt the most was nick collins. And after that the front office was almost forced to pick defense with the first/second rounds for years to come. Because Rodgers was good enough to carry the offense. But he can’t exactly play man coverage or line up to rush opposing quarterbacks. I really question the intellect of anyone who blames the draft for our lack of Super Bowls.
