Keep at it! My mom did the same thing. Even though it took years and years, it helped her reach her fullest potential and earn more money. Plus, she was just happier and more confident. It was a great thing to see and I was so proud to attend her graduation. 😊

I have been creating a website for mature women who are concerned about aging. I speak from experience because I am in my seventies. I believe a positive attitude is key to Aging With Zest which is the name of my site. I have only been at it for about 4 months, but it is really discouraging at times. I am not a techie person, so I have to learn new things at each step, which can be both a positive and a negative. I think a day without learning something new is a really wasted day, and I hate wasting a day. This turned out to be much longer than I intended, but I am grateful that I found you. I think your strategy journal will help me stay with it and not give up. Thank you!

I love this so much! Most of my roadblocks tend to be mindset related and a prompt I always use is "what are you secretly afraid of happening?", "what would you do if you knew you couldn't fail?" Answering these questions every time I wanted to quit really helped me stay on track with my goals. Wishing you all a great 2021 😄

On challenging days. Write in a journal. 1. What is not working. List them. 2. The barriers that are keeping things from 1. 3. Write down 10 ideas to solve each barrier. 4. End the page with "I will not quit, no matter what" 5. What 3 habits can I do tomorrow. Action oriented.

My goal is to lose weight, it's been 2 years so far, I'm 100lbs down with 100lbs still to go and I am so frustrated with the whole process, with how long it's taking, with how far I still have to go. This is just the kind of thing I need I think.

Underwhelming Supernova you lost 100lb ? That is awesome ! you should be proud of your self. It doesn't matter how long it takes, you made and is still making great progress. Many people can't lose 10lb in 2 years, you lost 100. Be proud of your self and focs on how far you have gone. Keep at it, I wish you best of luck :)

Underwhelming Supernova Dude, you averaged one pound a week. That's right in the zone. Yes, there are people who lose five pounds a week, and that's exciting. Until they gain it all back, that is. Rapid weight loss is not sustainable. All those people on " The Biggest Loser?" They almost all gain the weight back again--and more. A pound a week is excellent, right where you should be. Think of it this way: it took a long time to get fat; is going to take a while to get lean again. And because it takes so long and is often so difficult, YOU DON'T WANT TO HAVE TO DO IT AGAIN. You want to do it right this time. Which you are. Keep at it.

STRATEGY JOURNAL This is very good for a goal that is taking at least a year. 1) What is not working? Identify this. 2) What barriers are coming up? Define them. 3) Jot down 10 ideas per barrier. 4) End the page w/ "I will remind myself not to quit". Put affirmations from great minds. Make affirmations. 5) What are the habits I can create?

Totally agree with some of the other posts here. The trick to achieving your goals is this: 1. Ask for it 2. BELIEVE you will get it 3. Forget about it NOTE # If your attitude is negative, write down what you want the way you feel about it, then write it again and again and again, gradually adding a slightly more positive attitude towards it, using more positive words. “We receive what we believe” = if you have doubts about what you desire, then these doubts will come true. If you believe your wishes, desires, dreams etc will come to you, then they will. (can’t include specific people because we all have free will) The Universe/God/Source/whatever your preference is, will give us what we believe and feel we are worthy of receiving. Because our emotions are (basically) how we communicate with the big guns upstairs. So choose and use your words wisely, and most importantly KNOW HOW WONDERFUL YOU TRULY ARE. BECAUSE YOU ARE AS WORTHY AND IMPORTANT AS EVERYONE ELSE ON THIS PLANET. 💕

Kudos! I think finding true, constant happiness (not fleeting moments as when we eat ice cream) is the most difficult thing to accomplish for all of us humans. it is the one and only, the most genuine goal we actually trying to reach (whether consciously or subconsciously) by writing our goals, barriers, doing journaling, etc.... Best of luck to u sweetie, don’t let anyone or anything get in ur way, for if u r happy with urself - you are able to make others happy too

So glad I have found your videos/work. I’m working for my cello audition; I want to finish the university degree in classical cello that I’ve started 4 years ago. It’s has been and still is a hard journey for me. I stopped playing for almost 1,5 years and at some point I realize I wanted to give it a try again, and well now I’m living in Paris preparing the auditions with a very good teacher. Of course, it’s very hard sometimes, well almost everyday, but I’m really trying to change my habits and create a more healthier lifestyle. It’s so easy to forget ones goals if the journey is increeeeeedible lonely and hard. I will give it a try with the strategy pages! Thanks again!

My goal is to become fluent (level C2) in Italian. To reach this level I am setting yearly goals to which level of proficiency I want. I started a year ago and my goal is to end this year at B2 level (Its a level that would require someone to work or study in an Italian university). I am well on my way to the goal. Weekly I study all the levels of linguistics (grammar, reading, listening and speaking). I do have hard days when I feel I am not improving, but I wont quit! I've already have come so far. On the hard, frustrating days I will follow this strategy and write down my ideas and feelings

I’m about to be quite vulnerable right now as I express my challenge- never even thought of it as a goal to achieve, more like a bad habit to kick... embarrassing in a way, but posting it is making me feel more accountable... What’s not working? Waking up in the morning and laying in bed much too long, purposely distracting myself so that I’ve waited till the last possible minute to get up, rush around, find whatever outfit I can, leave for work without my hair done, race to get some makeup on while driving (yes, I am aware that is not safe), barely make it to work on time or usually arrive late. It’s a terrible feeling and I know I would feel better not having that stress of rushing, it gives me the very anxiety that I so dearly want to rid. It’s like self-sabotage. I’ve had some good runs with improving this, but it is never consistent. I feel silly, irresponsible, and confused as to why I continue to do this to myself. There’s a huge resistance and I believe it is linked to an underlying issue of something to do with past experiences in childhood that trigger me still to this day. And that alone makes this seem more difficult to overcome than just making a simple change of going to bed earlier or waking up earlier or setting the clocks forward or giving myself an incentive or... etc. It seems as if it doesn’t matter what I do to try to combat this, I almost always find a way to fall back into the same pattern. Anyway, whoever reads my comment, I hope you can appreciate the vulnerability and willingness to share my struggle, which may seem minuscule in comparison to others’ but nonetheless is something I have been trying to fight for quite some time.

My starting weight was 235lbs. 2 years later, I'm still struggling to get off the last few pounds. I'm currently 112lbs. Due to a chronic illness since birth, my doc wants me at 108lbs. Can't seem to ever go below 112. I'm 56, was overweight for years, and I'm elated I've made so much progress. But it's also difficult to never actually reach the finish line, even if I'm so so close. I'ma try this, in my analog system of journals. Might give me insight into what isn't working. Thanks!

Even if it's just a toe on the path... it's one toe closer to having my whole foot... you get where i'm going. Thank you. Goal taking over a year: run my wedding photo/video business.

I've wanted to become my own boss (entrepreneur) since I graduated high school in 2015. I wanted to learn business and make more money to better support the fam and have a life. Turned into my goal for the last year, year and a half of making a marketing agency. Which turned into my goal of making a profitable shopify site. Thank you for this video. I feel a major change in mindset coming from this practice in the future.

I have been wanting to record an album for 5 years now, and there's not a whole load I can do about it especially since I'm not studying at Uni full time, but this is definitely a step in the right direction. Just mind-mapping what is possible and what I have control over (which really, is a lot).

I'm on my last term of an intermediate-level Japanese course, and I've been struggling with being able to speak and listen in Japanese. Although I was able to understand later from thinking about what was said, I continue to feel most of what was said in class was completely missed. What I like about your journal idea is that it can also be done using the Japanese language. In going over the processes of the Strategy Journal in Japanese, I can think out loud, and listen to what I'm saying in Japanese for each step in the process of writing each entry in my journal. It will be most powerful to also go back over the previous grammar rules, vocabulary, and kanji we've already learned (at a digestible and comprehensive pace) as well as to continue doing drills on various creative sentences and paragraphs especially that will be helpful in class, in my job, and at home. On a side-note, finding out what doesn't work is just as powerful as finding out what does work. Narrowing the scope of exercises to the optimal exercises that work is no different than excluding those that don't work. I recommend both ways, and writing what you learned about those ways that do and don't work, and then from those, what three ideas you can do using what you've just learned about both ways. Building one success upon another.

I found out about interesting strategy, which I definitely will apply right now. And I will share with my man, as I know that it will help him as well. All in all, thank you, again.

Trying to master guitar is definitely probably going to take me some time. Lol I’ve had my acoustic for years but barely getting back into things. The plan is to practice my acoustic more and get me an electric guitar & acoustic electric bass bc/ that’s what I want since I want to expand on what I can do & want to do with music

Great video! I've been trying for over a year to love 80 pounds. Since the start of the year I've lost 20 pounds. I decided to take myself seriously. I can see times ahead where I will be frustrated. This isn't my first rodeo, after all. I'm going to get a special notebook for this. Thanks!

Goal: Debt free to move out of my 1974 single wide. 3 years in and $73K gone, $46K left and I'm exhausted from 70-110 hour work weeks for the length of it. Slowing down to 48-72 hour work weeks to let my mind and body rest and regroup before hitting it hard again. This journaling exercise looks wonderful to look for new ways to work that number down without having to work crazy hours. Thank you!!

I like the the way the method in the video analyses goals and progress while still being flexible. My Goal. Create a series of successful self published children's books. It's important they are self published as I've worked for traditional publishers for years but this time I want creative control. The first book is out now and I'm just about to push the publish button on the second book. My goal is 20 books in 3-4 years. I'm 53, sometimes I worry it's too old, but actually my years of building skills and experience is really paying off. If you are interested you can find my first book, Mindfulness for Vikings, on Amazon.
