Lovely, but the geography is completely wrong! The river doesn't slow down as it moves from upper - middle - lower, the velocity increases due to less friction...

Velocity on the surface is the not the same as flow rate. Velocity down a waterfall is pretty high! Flow rate is greater further down the river as the volumes involved are huge. The video doesn't make clear which measure is being used.
