I cried with her. My heart breaks thinking of my Tibetan brothers and sisters who have suffered and still suffering under the brutal Chinese rule. This documentary is a small piece of an example the hardship Tibetans are facing to get an education, yearning for Freedom and to see our living God His Holiness The Dalai Lama.Thank you for sharing this wonderful documentary.

Today, Tibetans in Tibet, China, live a very happy life. On the other hand, the group of people who were brainwashed by the Dalai Lama and ran away had a difficult life and became permanent refugees.

There is a saying where I am: "I don't have a dog in this fight." If you know the meaning of this saying in a geographical sense, you would know where I am from. I am genuinely curious. I have request and questions. Please interpret them as-is, not some political messages, and beat me over my head with your words. I am more interested in people, their history, and culture than politics. Here are my request and questions: 1) Tell us more about you and your family before you left Tibet. 2) What did your family tell you about leaving Tibet? 3) What have you done to continue with your Tibetan Buddhism, language, and cultural practices since you left Tibet? 4) If you stayed in the kind of Tibetan school that you had, not the Chinese version but the traditional Tibetan version, would you have learned what you have learned now, such as posting on YT in English, and doing whatever you are doing now academically or professionally? If it is not too intrusive, would you kindly give me your thoughtful answers, please. Thank you! Edit: Thanks to YT algorithm, my love for Tibetan music, Gorshey, and Chuba fashion brought me here!

@@hyung6999 Hello, i would like to pitch in if its ok, I am not from Tibet but my grandmother is from Tibet, they fled tibet and later settled in border village where she married my grandpa and lived there since. I have lots of relatives in tibet, xigatse , lhasa, even 2 of my elder sisters are there married now. One of them studied in tibet in Khasa, the border city and later on xigatse and Lhasa where she lives with her family now. I myself attended tibetan school in kathmandu, so i learned to read, write and speak tibetan, i mean its very similar to our Sherpa language, so it wasn't that hard for me to learn Tibetan i guess, I learned about basics on buddhism, Tibetan history, politics etc. There are couple of Tibetan schools in Nepal. From my experience, the amount of english being taught in Tibet was zero to none, my sister when she was doing her high school , she barely knew basic english while we were in middle school in Nepal and we had decent amount of english education. so there are differences in the education system, in nepal we have to learn nepali, english and tibetan at the same time, so it was proper way to learn all not the same case in Tibet. Now that I am in nyc, there are good amount of tibetan refugees living here and have established themselves forming their own community, we have gorshey at the park every wednesday I believe, and lots of gatherings, protest during important events etc.

@@Paldentseringsherpa no ,in Tibet children have to learn English in school .yes ,it's impressive that in lhasa people from Nepal all can speak English fluently .the main reason that the students in Tibet can't speak English well is they needn't English in their lives .few of foreigner travelers are interacting with their daily lives .when they want to have good occupation in Tibet they needn't a good English skill .they love Tibet plateau ,suppose they had the chance to exchange their nice Tibetan house with a good house in America ,they 100% will refuse to move to America .if you can't understand this that means you can't understand Tibetan's heart .I am sure your relatives have good lives in Tibet .you can dance can protest China can picnic in the park or can do anything in America ,welcome to Tibet China when you have the chance .in China ,han Chinese have to compete with each other fiercely for climbing to any upper position in the society ,if there are some examinations ,English paper is definitely in it .

I am from Arunachal Pradesh. We have a tibetian refugee camp here at Tezu. Don't try to push on with the fake narrative. Through our long association with Tibet, I can say that Tibet was a worst place where the useless monks and the high ranking monks ate away all the hardwork of the commoners. There was widespread subjugation, slavery and other social evils. The Chinese have liberated the common tibetian, those who fled to India were the oppressors like Dalai Lama. They fled because they feared of public uprising.

Just watched this powerful documentary on the journey of Tibetan refugees escaping across the Himalayas, and it hit me hard. This is the same path my parents took, risking everything for freedom. It was emotional to see the footage of Rinpoche escaping to Solukhumbu, and how lucky am I to now see him, grown and thriving here. His resilience is inspiring. A huge thanks to the amazing videographers and photographers for capturing this incredible journey and keeping our history alive. 🙏

They were indeed dicing w/ death for the sake of this unique & gripping documentaries. For those unfamiliar w/ Chinese misdeed in the recent past, the followings are some immutable actual facts; 1) China invaded Tibet in 1959 result in Dalai Lama's escape into India & he has been in exile since then. 2) the torture & oppression of Uighurs, the minority at the northwestern province of China, Xinjiang region. 3) the illegitimate creation of the artificial island in the south Asian sea for their military advantage & strategy which could be their potential future aggression. And China has been firmly & doggedly claiming Taiwan should be a part of China & thus the annexation of it is perfectly legitimate even by force! Lastly, I can't help feeling sympathy for those people who lost their own country, the Tibetans! They must have been in such immeasurable anguish.,,,,,My sincere gratitude to you for this rare doc!.,,,,(10/10/24)

The new Tibetan kids will grow up and consider chinese as their number 1 enemy who can't be forgiven at any circumstances and it may continue so.. Tibet suffered under China liked Naga of Nagaland had been suffering under India for more then 7 decades.. It seems the videographic is very old clip as dalai lama in the video is young and energitic.. Freedom for Tibet.
