I am Indian and since the time I was a child I have seen Nepali people working hard for long hours especially work that requires physical strength. Its just set in my mind that my Nepali brothers and sisters are the strongest human beings on the planet.

I was in Nepal for nearly 7 weeks in 1986 and have treked Kumaon, Annapurna BC, Chitral around Tirich Mir and around HP. Life is so hard and isolated for these lovely mountain people and doctors, education, food and shelter and survival is a battle without weather and natural desasters. My heart goes out to them and they are some of the most humble, hard working yet friendly and so hospitable. God bless and protect them. ❤

My dad was a paramedic in the British army in WW2 and told me all about the Gorkhas and how they could sneak up on you and slice your throat before you knew they were there. They particularly seemed to hate the Germans at the time. He had a lot of respect for the Gorkhas and said we (the allies) were lucky to have them on our side.

Oddly enough these various jobs reminds me when I was working as long line fisherman in the Irish sea and north Atlantic in an open boat in the 70s/80s/90s. Backbreaking work at times, dangerous and continually exposed to the elements but a lot of time while working to contemplate life.

I've driven in Nepal, many years ago but only on tarmac road. Its true, though, they are some of the friendliest, kindest people I have met. Travelling around Asia, it tends to be the poorest who are the kindest.

As always a QUALITY documentary. In Nepal you find Hinduism and Buddhism like no were else. Yet like enslaved Tibet Nepal is left by the gods with unmatched beauty and festering poverty. Read PHYSICS not G O D.

Very sad I wish politicians Nepal could have done better for theses youths of Gurkhas rather for themselves... things could have better but sadly.... Prayers Prayers
