To be honest this actually reminded me that the Sigma virus is actually a devastating thing for reploids and not just an excuse to explain why Sigma is back

Fun fact, the gbc megaman x games confirms that the last stage of the sigma/maverick virus is death.
@Firesaur-ut9hy9 ай бұрын
Fun fact; Flame Mammoth has the least amount of fire attacks of any fire boss Flame Stag has his fireballs, Speed Burner, and tackles Magma Dragoon has his uppercuts, Hadoukens, fire breath, and lava balls Burn Dinorex has his Ground Fire, burning back plates, rams, and fire streams Blaze Heatnix has his God Bird, lava orb spit, and magma summoning Flame Hyenard is…Flame Hyenard Burn Rooster has his descending triangle kicks, fire pillars, and fiery plume. Flame Mammoth only had his Fire Wave, which only comes in the form of arcing fire projectiles from his arm cannon. And yes he has his oil that makes them into huge flame pillars, but the oil itself doesn’t deal any damage, and can’t really be seen as an “attack” per se
@GCJACK832 ай бұрын
You're partially right in that Mammoth had two attacks/weapons. You forget his size and weight are weapons unto themselves while the others you named are much smaller and lighter than he was. He had his stomp attack which could knock you off your feet on the floor or off of walls if you clung to those too much.

@@GCJACK83 I was regarding his FIRE-based attacks. Flame Mammoth honestly feels like “Big Oil Mammoth that Has *One* Fire Ability”

So my interpretation of this BEAUTIFUL song, is as thus. Flame Mammoth is currently under the effects of the Virus and is noticing the effects it is having on him. In a sick turn of events, he feels like he has a "fever". He is sick. He is losing control of himself. I wouldn't be surprised if his circuitry is going haywire, messing with his cooling. He seems reluctant in wanting to fight. It also seems like he is actively fighting the control but losing. Saying he wants to give up, but then saying he won't lose. I also think most of the song is internal dialogue, but when he says he won't lose or falter, I think that is just him speaking to X. Already gone. His words not his own, he is on autopilot, and is trapped in his own body. He doesn't want to fight, it's painful his actions are not his own. Slowly losing who you are, feeling it slip away but nothing you can do, all you can do is watch as you slowly fade away. The backup vocals might also symbolize the virus itself, commanding him, telling him what to do. Fan the fire, feed the fire etc. The virus essentially saying to succumb. To stop fighting the control, and just let it happen. It's going to happen whether he likes it or not, but the more he struggles, the more painful it will be. I'm also getting a bunch of Hollow Knight vibes from this art and wouldn't be surprised if Mammoth's tale is somewhat inspired by it. An illness controlling you, making you harm yourself just so you can harm others. You don't matter. All that matters is getting rid of the enemy. This is by far my favorite. You keep improving with each iteration, and it's immaculate. The vocals for "I am Burning Up" Conveys so much emotion, and energy and just feels powerful. Raw. Despondent. The whole song is a losing battle, much like Boomer Kuwanger. I hope you eventually explain in detail how you picture these scenes playing out, because I would love to hear the actual interpretation of the artist as well. Stay Awes9me.

This is unexpectedly haunting. What I love most about this one is the overriding sense of hopelessness and despair and how you transformed a rocking track into a pre-mortem dirge. This isn't like some of the other tracks, where even when Mavericks accepted their fate or even hated it, there was still a glimmer of self-determination in the dying of the light. This is the fading out of a candle. This puts a perfect cap onto the circle of eight. The revolution doesn't die with a bang but a whimper. And, yes, I know it's not "over" but clearly, this is the tipping point in general (albeit not for the story). The art is especially good at selling this because with the use of perspective, you managed to make Flame Mammoth...look small. While the stage itself has quite a few macabre elements, in game, Flame Mammoth serves as a massive figure that literally throws his weight around. His depiction is is wonderfully reversed here.

You've brought the heat with this one, and at just the right time. It's warming up outside in some places due to spring. A fiery song in the warming days of spring is a genius idea. I just noticed the ample use of power chords in the soundtrack, and wonder if someone at Capcom assumed more sound channels on the Super Nintendo meant they could finally use power chords. Someone took Bat Out of Hell and Rock Of Ages as a challenge, and I love it. Keep up the good work. While I am not too familiar with X1's soundtrack, I like what's you've been doing so far and want to see what's next. I feel bad for Flame Mammoth, he's trying his best to not sucummb to the Sigma virus. At the point X fights him, he's merely a pile of embers that once used to be a raging fire, being slowly chipped away by the harsh weather conditions of the Sigma virus. It's sad, what is essentially Flame Mammoth's corpse is being necromanced into doing something he didn't ask for, nor agreed to. He is a puppet, being held by the strings of the Sigma virus until the sweet release of physical death, his body finally being in the same state as his mind.

This has inspired me to finally try making voice acting vids again. The story, the desperation, the music, it just all fits so well. The organ is such a nice choice, as well as the synth. With your permission, I would love to use this track, and hopefully the instrumental track, for the backing of two videos. One from the Perspective of Flame Mammoth, and one from the perspective of X. In Flame Mammoth's vid, it will focus on the internal struggle, as well as a distorted view of the external. Mostly inner dialogue, with muffled external sounds of his and X's battle and Dialogue. I love the line "My body's burning me from the inside." The bridge before it, I picture an AI system voice basically going, "Warning, warning, Internal temperatures at critical levels. Auxiliary Systems Emergency Shutdown, init-Manual override, detected. Fail safes, disengaged." Essentially, the virus/Sigma is overriding his limits, allowing him to go beyond the point of hurting himself. His body is literally burning him from the inside, while it also feels wrong that he has no control of his actions. Fire and Oil began to ooze out of him, much like pic shown. To me it's a sad scene, and depicts how much of a monster, and what a terror the Maverick Virus is. During the part where flame mammoth breathes, saying he thought he was tough, but it's not enough, I picture the Ai voice basically going "Personality Core Access granted. Personality conversion, initiated." This whole time, X and Mammoth have stopped fighting. X is talking to Mammoth, the REAL Mammoth, who is saddened, and tells X he is not strong enough, that X needs to run, or end him. As he says this, his personality is breached. He lets out a scream internally that erupts externally and mixes with the SNES Flame Mammoth Batlle cry. The battle continues as he can do nothing, but feel himself fade away as sigma laughs. Then we have X's perspective. His perspective we can hear muffled from Flame mammoths, but this version will NOT be muffled. It will play out just like the other version, but without the system warnings and internal monologue that Flame mammoth had. We will be able to hear things clearly, and not distorted or glitchy like in Flame Mammoth's as well as some dialogue that just doesn't get heard in his version. I am going to do the videos and post them, and if you respond before then, or even after. It doesn't matter how many views the vid has, if I don't have your permission to use your music, I will take down the video no questions asked. That's a promise. Stay Awes9me

I'm not supposed to blaspheme on easter, but lord almighty this is awesome!! I don't think I get it all that I'm supposed to understand, but it still sounds fantastic! Those high notes changing the leitmotiv near the end give me life! And those notal liberties that go in some parts of the song are astonishing!!! I don't know music theory, but this is certainly good for my standards. And regarding the theme, you nailed it! The last one on line, succumbing to the infection, with a mix of suffering for the control and being forced to fight and get injured in a burning agony. I personally think that the fire burning him from the inside is both metaphorically (the pain from the control) and litteral, being forced to fight so hard that the petrol container in its stomach its getting both damaged and forced to attack intensely, so its literally burning him from the inside. And those "at least I'm not alone now" Its fricking awesome! You are awesome! This is awesome! Thanks for this masterpiece, and know this is one of the best ones yet!

oh this is awesome! Makes sense that the biggest Maverick of ‘em all only comes to a…sense of mortality in the final hour. It’s also interesting that the song primarily focuses on his agony, as I do think it might say something about X. I suspect it has something to do with Eagle, but who knows?
@nangbaby9 ай бұрын
Another interpretation is if you bring gameplay logic into this and ignore the plot continuity of the songs, X would have the Storm Tornado and use it on Flame Mammoth. That could *also* be what "You're gonna fan the fire" refers to. It might not be only viral infection, pre-death-delirium, X going full duty mode (spurred on with the realization that he *can't* save one of the eight), or even an attempt from Flame Mammoth to overload/overclock his systems in a last ditch effort to secure victory. It could also be the effect of what being hit with that Storm Tornado is like and why it's so effective; it causes Flame Mammoth to overheat. That's probably not the intended reading, though, as that is super-literal, but it is another way to look at it.
@alexx.4769 ай бұрын
That is true! My personal guess was that X somehow ignited the oil reserves he carried via physical trauma or a conveniently placed buster shot, but adding more air could make things worse.

I expected that Burnin' Noumander would be boastful as he thought he would win, but he had a voice in his head telling him that fate was not on his side, considering that X got the Special Weapon data from the other Irregulars in his journey. How ironic that the toughest Irregular would admit that he's screwed already! And out of character, too! 0:00

A mammoth achievement. I bet you could even make good lyrics out of Flame Hyenard... though focus on Sigma first. Maverick Hunter X made Mammoth out as more of a brutish bully trumpeting his strength compared to X, yet here he's the last one left. Maybe it could have been a single-character duet, two sets of lyrics with the first being Mammoth boasting about his inevitable victory while the second reveals the growing terror he feels inside, hiding beneath his bluster.

ironically, i was wondering about that! a lot of the mavericks seem to have been uninfected like eagle and chameleon, so i’m wondering if mammoth is actually infected or whether he’s just delirious as his internal damage takes its toll
