They’d have to flip atleast 1, maybe 2 of those guys. Respect for Portland. They sent Dame to a real contender in exchange for Robert Williams, Malcolm Brogdon, Deandre Ayton, a late 2024 first, a pair of 2029 unprotected firsts, and a pair of pick swaps. Ayton and Williams is a very solid young center rotation. They have one of the most promising core of guards in the league with Scoot Henderson, Anfernee Simons, and Shaedon Sharpe. They signed Jerami Grant to that huge contract, and even though I'm not quite sure if he's in their timeline, he is a 20ppg PF. If they could swap Brogdon for the right piece and a few more picks... this team's future is looking bright. Those unprotected '29 firsts could both turn out to be lotto picks.

I was worried trailblazers wouldn’t get a great package because of Dames age and injury history. These 2 trades combined are fantastic. Get good bigs in ayton and Williams and you can flip one down the line. You get a good mature guard in brogdon to teach Scoot the ropes and can trade him at the deadline. Picks seem good but you never know until later.
@killgoretrout90008 ай бұрын
I think Chauncey Billups covers the mature guard to teach Scoot the ropes role. The question with Brogdan is does PDX trade him before the season starts or wait until the trade deadline? The former likely will result in a solid return waiting for the trade deadline could result in a much better deal as a team pushing for a championship run could pay more than he's worth or a much worse deal if Brogdan gets injured a not unlikely scenario.

Reality is Boston has had a competitive roster for the past 5/6 seasons. Thats pretty damn good to be in the conversation for that long, and pretty fair to say they have a chance. Hopefully this year. People watched the Last Dance once and hear "dont mean a thing without a ring" and completely disregard great teams because they didnt win a ring. 1 team wins every year. 29 dont. @@ebenezeronile I said youre acting like they barely made it to the playoffs. Youre making my point exactly. A player isnt "good" or "great" if they havent won a ring, a team isnt "good" or "great" if they didnt win. Ill say it again, 1 team wins every year. Things dont go perfectly, people get injured, there are just plain better teams that get lucky or put it together at the right times.....Doesnt make a team or player "nothing" if they dont win lol. Appreciate sports. Bandwagon fans are the ones who say "Championship or bust, nothing more nothing less".... Appreciate good basketball. Appreciate good teams and players even if theyre not winning a ring. Charles Barkley and steve Nash are both all time greats, the 73-9 Warriors are a legendary team.....did they win a ring....no. Are they damn good teams and players who did amazing things and deserve their flowers, absolutely. If you as an athlete want to set bars for yourself and compete with the mindset that its not good enough till you win the ultimate prize, great. But were fans watching sports lol. Just enjoy it. No need for the overhype bull*hit ideologies and discounting teams and players for not winning. Its not our goals lol, its theirs, were just watching. @rome81808 ай бұрын
Jrue has had some shooting issues in the playoffs, but during the regular season he was actually quietly elite as a floor spacer in Milwaukee. On catch-and-shoot 3pt opportunities last year, he was at over 45%. And on stepback threes, he was at 36%. Both of these would be near the top of the league for players with a high volume of attempts. I know people don't think of him as a "shooter," but over the last three years he's really improved that part of his game. Part of that is the attention that Giannis attracts, but he's going to get the same benefit in Boston. Probably more so. There were times in Milwaukee where he had no choice but to be the second option.
