copy and past this if you are using this video for school: Superior court cases: Divorces, title of land, equity cases, felonies (burglary, robbery, selling drugs, a victim was injured or passed away). State court cases: Misametors (violations of the law such as shoplifting, carrying a concealed weapon, trespassing, traffic offenses (like speeding)) Juvenile court cases: They hear cases involving youth under 17 years of age, kids under 17 brought before Juvenile court are alleged to be delinquent (commited a crime that would send them to jail if they were 18+), unruly (a youth did something that is would not be a “crime” if they were 18+ like skipping school), or deprived (a youth who needs supervision from the court who has not parents or has been abused or neglected. Probate court: oversee the printing of election ballots and counting votes, they also administer wills and estates from the people who passed away, and appoint guardians and handle the legal matters for the mentally ill. Magistrate court: Known as small claims court, they may issue arrest warrants and search warrants. And may also set bails in criminal court cases that will be held in Superior court. Court of appeals: Appellate courts can uphold or overturn decisions made by lower level courts, unlike trail court cases, which are heard by more than one judge. The Supreme Court of Georgia is the highest court in the state, there are seven judges on the supreme court, one of these judges is elected by his or her peers as chief justice Supreme Court decisions are determined by a majority vote of the justices the Supreme Court reviews cases pertaining constitutionality of any law passed by the General Assembly.
