The comm array outage is an interesting idea. It would be neat if the jump point could give you a warning that the comm array at your destination has been compromised or that contact was lost or unknown. Sort of like that UEE warning sign that you are leaving their controlled space when you approach.

You mean like the sign in the upper left hand corner of your Hud that is literally always there telling you specifically that?

@@FreebirthBoccara Not at all, that icon displays the local comm array. I'm talking about the destination's comm array so you have a warning in advance before you decide to jump. Ideally, this could be communicated in a more immersive way, rather than a HUD icon.

Yes the emergent opportunities would be really cool and I think a design like that could really work.

Well laid out discussion points, as a hauler, my thoughts go towards hiring escorts, but that can go bad nine ways to Sunday if the escorts are bad agents.

If you need escorts cargo mission between systems would also need BIG payouts to account for crew, as I don't think the risk vs reward algorithm they created takes crew pay into account.

I had a similar idea with ATC jamming weapons or giving warnings to anyone in SCM mode and risk facing security forces. Risk vs Reward for Pirates, deterrent for Griefers.

Yes I think they have the tech to make it work without much dev down time and I think the community would be onboard with it

i like this illustration here. gate camping in eve is a pain in the ass, here that is a good approach but can you shoot ppl trying escape from pirates. how long before transit, if its going to take more than 5 seconds then they got to work on protection on the gate from that exit point.

It’s a bottleneck for sure and I hope they figure out the ship groupings stuff so we don’t have to wait in a line too long

the exact number being an unknown is concerning, but if it was like 10 or higher I would be ok with that

ever been to a themepark? ever ride the log Flume? Thats how CIG are solving rthe problem keeping ships in a line having the JUMP GATES QUE up for the first server group to empty out and moves everyone over to a server via the LOADING SCREEN minigame.

Sounds like getting into Pyro should be fairly easy but getting out could be more challenging. That generates the question regarding the value of a trip to Pyro. Will it be worth it to cargo haulers to trade in Pyro? Will CIG reduce the rewards of trading in Stanton (which feels like their more likely move) or will the rewards of trading in Pyro be beyond temptation? Pyro sounds like lots of new fun for combative players but little has been mentioned about the other gameloops in Pyro. Good mining areas and refineries, High value commodity post (and if so how many)? Places to sell at better rates than Stanton? I guess salvage will be good if everyone is going around exploding ships if you can have a place to sell. And of course there are the immature game loops (data running, exploration and science) will any of these come to Pyro. This needs to be asked and answered, IMO.

These are great questions, for cargo missions between star systems they will probably need to increase the reward because ppl will more than likely need escort protection, and the internal economy of pyro is still a huge question mark

If we look at it in terms of CIG's other design surrounding criminal game play we see that they: -Don't require criminals be logged in to serve their prison sentence. The timer goes down even when they're logged out. This means they can jump on an alt as well. -Crime on/off switch -Can expunge record -Mining Outposts don't have hangars. Exposed landing pad. No restrictions on who can access cargo. -LTI is honored with no aUEC penalty even if your ship is destroyed while you have active crime-stat. -Criminals currently don't have to pay protection fees to NPC criminal factions that run Pyro. -Parties can't travel together. Even if hauler/miner/salvager hired escort, tunnels spit you out apart from each other. Easy for criminals to stay together on Pyro side. Actions speak louder than words, yeah?

Only if there is a reason not to do it. Right now there is no risk involved with criminal gameplay.
