I had this game as a kid, but I never beat it legitimately. I always beat it using an exploit I found. Might as well talk about it here, since this video is about that game. What I would do is that with the first typing lesson you're given, I would hold down a key that was never used in any sentence in the quiz (usually I would hold down the 0 key). This would set your words per minute for the quiz at 0. You'll have to do this step or else the exploit wouldn't work, because the game will set the targets to charge up the keys for each key to be very low, since the WPM required to charge each key is dependent on your WPM in the test quiz. Then for each round to charge up a key, I would just hold down the space bar for the whole quiz. Usually I get a speed of 50 WPM, which if you do the previous step earlier, setting the targets for the keys really low, it'll be just enough speed to unlock all the keys and beat the game. Not doing the first step and typing normally would set the targets possibly too high to pass the quiz by just holding down the space bar. I don't know how the game is coded, but I have an idea about why this works. Every correct key press is used to calculate your WPM, but every incorrect key press gets thrown and not used to calculate your WPM, hence why doing the first step will give you 0 WPM. The game doesn't punish you for mistakes, only caring about your WPM. Spaces are the most common "character" in the typing quizzes, so there is enough of them to get correct as well as them being close enough together for you to get a high WPM by just holding down one key. You'll still charge the key even if the mistakes you make are in the thousands (which you'll get using this method), just as long as the WPM you reach is higher than the WPM required to charge the key. I haven't heard of anyone using this exploit to beat the game before, so hope this helps if you want to beat the game the lazy way.

So JunpStart 3rd grade is my favorite Jump Start game, so to have basically a sequel that I have not even heard of till today, it’s a review by one of my favorite KZbinrs and it was posted on my birthday. (I know I commented a few days later lol) So I’m glad the stars aligned for me. 😂😊

The reason for the double-space after punctuation is due to old typewriters using monospace fonts, so it'd be difficult to tell where a sentence ends if you only use one space. People don't use two spaces nowadays for obvious reasons, and I think it was probably phased out of most typing curricula by 2000 or so.

I have ptsd from this game we used it in typing class in 6th grade but our keyboards were covered so we couldnt look at the keys in order to "learn" to type (didnt work lol)

Hey, not sure you'll see this but my cousin wants to make a SpongeBob Fan Game called Return Of The Lava King and wants to ask if you could voice Hammerhead, one of the main characters. I'm pretty sure the game isn't going to be made but it does sound and look pretty fun.
