The fabric vendor did not deliver any product and has no right to hold unto the deposit. Plaintiff has no business with the fabric vendor, the designer took up the job and is fully responsible for how she used the money.

The tailor is not being professional. Did she pay the entire deposit of N50k to the Vendor. Too bad for her, not every job we should accept. Particularly, the ones that we do not have total control over.

The plaintiff had no agreement whatsoever with the material vendor and cannot be suing someone whom she did not have any arrangements with. The tailor should sue the fabric vendor to recover the money

Another good one! The defendant exposed herself because she taught that by reading the preferred part of her conversation with the plaintiff on her phone, gave her the upper hand. But she forgot to quit while she was ahead and as a result did herself in with her own mouth. This is why I like this Judge better than Judge Judy; she does not interrupt you until you end up revealing everything and too much then she steps in, and using her intellect and the Law, grabs you for an equitable and conclusive verdict .
@thesecondderivative8967
@thesecondderivative8967 8 ай бұрын
I actually don't prefer this judge to Judge Judy. Sometimes she allows chaos in the court. Also, there is a lot of superfluity in the Justice Court episodes. Some of these cases (the ones of paternity for example) can be done in less than seven minutes. There is a reason Judge Judy does not let the litigants run their mouths most of the time. The extraneous details (hearsay, conditionals) can taint her judgment negatively. In fact, there are cases in this courtroom where I feel she was done in by hearsay. For this specific case in the courtroom, the plaintiff already said that the defendant had begun refundment. If the judge wanted to see the texts, she should have asked for it. In fact, she should have not allowed the defendant to read off her phone; she should have read it herself. People lie.

If u notice what the judge was trying to do. The judge was expecting the tailor to say she will be paying it maybe 5thousands instalment on monthly basis till its complete 40k, and the judge was ready to support her by placing her judgment on that, because the judge discovered that the tailor is sincere, but since the tailor agreed to pay all once, the judge has no choice but to make her judgement as such. Sincere Tailor, professional Judge.

People pay tailors everyday to source material and sew. The tailor could have utilised the sum held by her vendor in through another client's order be it bridal train, corporate or native wears, without prolonging this thing. All I see is overfamiliarity on her part. People should learn to treat even family with the same professional courtesy they would a third party.

@estherolali8862

The reason is because the defendant also said there is a tradition that everyone is aware of, which is no refunds, and the plaintiff said she does not want any of the fabrics. So she cannot sue the vendor because she was aware there would be no refunds except exchange of another fabric which she has no need of.

Dear fashion designer, it's not your fault totally, you did the then bride a favor even when you knew sewing and procuring wedding dresses was not your thing. Unfortunately, it didn't work out and the young lady should not suffer for it 😪. Pity her too, dragging debt since 2018 is headache. Now this is what you can do, go back to Eko and get the your material. Make the most amazing wedding gown ever, now you can either sell it outrightly or rent it. You shall surely recoup your money 💰

I've also been into fashion designing too and I must say that the designer should never have deposited such huge amount for materials that you are not even sure yet. You only deposit when you have found your choice material from the sample shown to you to avoid other people picking it. You are allowed to view samples. You don't have to make payment when you are not ready to buy. What if your customer doesn't like any of the fabrics?

Both of them seem like good ladies but this is a big issue that has shaken their relationship. . I get pissed with vendors that say they don't offer such and such services. But then they go ahead and accept the job offer just to deliver below expectation. Like if you don't render a service, then don't render the service! It's that simple. No one is putting a gun to your head. Stay in your lane and stand your ground. . This happened to me with my hair dresser. I wanted to do faux loc. I asked her if she does it. She said yes. I sent her pictures of exactly what I wanted her to replicate, no alterations. She told me the extensions to buy. When I was at the beauty store, I video called her so that I could get the exact ones and quantity she wanted. The day to do my hair came. She didn't do what I asked. Before we started, I showed her the picture down to the pattern of what I wanted to refresh her memory. She said ok. After we were done, my hair was nothing like the picture. She now said she thought I wanted something different. I told her I never said that to her that I showed her exactly what I wanted. I pulled up our chats and also reminded her of our conversation before we started. Then she said I should help her manage my hair like that. That she is tired and she does not like doing faux locs that she runs away from it. I told her but I asked her right from the beginning. If she does not like doing it, why did she accept to do it? I mean, I didn't put a gun to her head neither did I beg her. I could have gone somewhere else! I begged her just to finish the ends just like in the picture. She said no, she's tired and she has children. She said 'next time. Please help me and manage it like that.' I was crying because I was so disappointed. But she was not moved. So I asked her how much she wanted me to transfer to her. She said she told me the price and that is what she expects. I replied that I also showed her the hair and that was what I expected. But here we are. I told her there was no way I could pay her the complete amount. That I can't just bear the full cost of her mistakes. She said it was better for me not to pay her at all than for me to give her less. I did give her less. I explained the issue to my mum who is a lawyer. My mum said she will not agree to do my hair again. My sister who is a psychologist said she was playing mind games with me and it was good that I didn't pay her the full amount. True to my mum's words, she refused to do my hair again. But thank God there are other stylists. And the other ones I have used have done awesome jobs. Now, I run away from people who say they don't usually offer that service but want to do it "for you" like they are doing you a favour. It shows their heart is not fully in it. If you don't offer it, then don't offer it!! There are others who offer those services and even do a better job, so we will patronize them. But don't accept the job then turn around and behave like you are doing me or anyone else a favour by accepting the job. Like in this bride's case, she found a suitable wedding dress somewhere else! You are not the only one! Another thing is that the tailor said the bride was appearing to bully her. Are you kidding??? After more than a year that she paid 50k, you refunded 10k and you turn around to say she is bullying you? What I think the tailor should have done from beginning to let peace reign given that the lady has been a great client and even contracted her for the bridal train dresses, the tailor should have refunded the money and get a material of her own choice (the tailor) from her supplier. Then use it for herself, or make a ready made outfit and sell. Cos like she said, the vendor supplies wedding materials, so not just wedding gown materials but materials even wedding guests use or after party/second bridal outfits. Shouldn't have taken that long to refund. . And why would you expect the bride to contact your vendor? She has no business with her. You are the one who has the business with the vendor. So why say you'll send the bride the vendor's number to call? Good thing that the bride didn't want the number.
@maryolie9585

This is the most unbiased comment I've read so far. The bride is rather emotional, and it's to be expected...her wedding was around the corner and her tailor friend disappoints her, on top of that, she's keeping her money and expects her to be the one dragging fabric seller for the money...na see finish be that! The tailor is so not a friend! She's coldly calculative and does not regard the bride as her friend. The way she dismissively said she'll pay the balance by April is annoying...I can feel the judge thinking so why the heck didn't you pay her all this while until the girl brings you to court?! She's a nasty person... leaves a bad taste in the mouth. Personally, I weed such 'friends' out of my life the moment I think you're treating me in a condescending manner. And I don't go back!!!

After watching this video, I finally realized that there are only two reasons why this tantalizing, exhilarating, gladdening and razzle- dazzling video would enhance different assertions. One is the collective use of colloquial abstract representation of normative assertions owing to the distinction in regulatory and derogatory affirmative relations to binary patterns. The second is that even I don't know what I said above and I've just wasted 20 seconds of your time. So therefore, with that being said and all protocol duly observed, I hereby declare vawulence and maximum emotional dàmage.

during my own wedding, though am a designer I had my first outing dress to make so I did not want to look so stressed on my D-day. I Tasked my boss to make my other wears and train's. Omo I spared a day we drove to eko market oo, i was there myself sorting with him and we got all our materials. Then went home satisfied. it's not easy sending someone to market alone.

It's very simple, your fabric vendor disappointed you and that caused the whole thing so you should pay the lady and go after your fabric vendor. You can get any other fabric from her and do do something else and sell in your shop. What has the fabric vendor got to do with the lady that you want to give her number to her? They don't have any business.

If a customer gives you money to deliver it is not her business your contract with a third party. The seamstress should bear the cost. Even the seamstress did not know they were not going to refund. The tailor is wrong. How can you pay a vendor money for something you didn't buy yet in this Nigeria? If she did not like a fabric and did not choose any, why would you pay deposit on it. That is not right. She paid the tailor the deposit to go and buy the fabric.
