If it stays front drive, a SR20 turbo would be easy. Go mid engine, a VQ37 with cams and a Haltech. 400hp NA

Amazing vid lad genuinely my favourite car channel on yt always bringing out bangers with the micra engine I think a bike engine like a r1 lump or a kawasaki XR10R would be good since a good amount of power and rev like hell

Nissan Primera 2.0 engine goes in complete with front subframe, if you get the complete car. You can also turbo the 2.0 that comes out of the Primera. You can see 250 bhp minimum

Main earth should go to the body proper . Otherwise engine voltage will find ground somewhere else . All the engines are stupid expensive …… except a 1.8t so that’s my vote
