The powerful propulsion system on-board the 60 Knot Anti-Poaching Vessel (APV) can produce massive amounts of electrical power, capable of delivering over 15,000 volts to the Japanese whaling crew when required to deter illegal whaling and defend the ship from illegal boarding.
This electric shock defense system will be strategically placed around the vessel’s hull or via extendable booms. The generated electricity is distributed through the ship’s power management systems to various subsystems, including propulsion, onboard electronics, and the defense systems.
The MT30, developed by Rolls-Royce, is one of the most powerful marine gas turbines available, delivering up to 40 MW (megawatts) of power, and is a common turbine in use by navies around the world.
