Thanks Joel for the upload video. I went to Linwood School, then Frances Willard, and finally to the original Paseo High School in the City of Kansas City. I've spent the time to look up the three locations you talked about in this video, and plan to see them, even thought I moved to the Kansas side of Kansas City.

This was a lot of fun to make and I enjoyed exploring Kansas City looking for these old locations. Wish I could find the rest of the giant if it still exists.

@@AmericanGiants Appreciate you getting back to me so quickly. I'll see if I can confirm what happened to the Giant on Miller Pontiac, but don't hold your breath.

Love all your videos, my daughter and I have been watching for several years. Do you know anything about the very custom muffler man that stood at the Joliet Jack Hammers baseball park? When I was a kid it was there and was very cool. I was talking to the current manager of the now Joliet Slammers and they said it's in a warehouse somewhere taken after the team changed owners a few years back. I often wonder if it's still in some where house.

Yes I loved the look of the Joliet Jack Hammer Muffler Man. He came from Ham Lake MN and then was converted for the baseball park. When he was removed he went to a private residence and was in storage for a number of years but it now on display on private property. Sadly not open to the public though. He now has black pants and a red shirt.

We live in the KC area & I've been intrigued about Muffler Men since we drove Route 66. Im so disappointed that the Half Wit you restored for Bagnell Dam (Lake of the Ozarks) hasnt been put back up? Do you know what happened to it? The Indian that you restored for them looks amazing!!!
@AmericanGiants Жыл бұрын
The Half Wit is fine and in good condition. He is being stored till the exact location he will stand can be figured out, Hopefully they will get him up and standing again in another year or so.

Hey, I saw your story on CBS and came here right away. Not sure if you know this already or not, but there's one in my town of coopersburg, pa. His name is chip and the local ice cream place (inside scoop) installed him a little less than 10 years ago and has been a huge hit ever since. No clue if they're looking to get rid of him anytime soon or anything, but figured you'd appreciate it.

Haven't seen him yet but I sure know about him! He is a modern remake but still a member of the club!

Have you seen the one in Port Clinton Ohio? It’s been there for at least 40 years and was recently restored. Although I don’t like how they did him up I’m glad he got repaired. He was originally outside of a sandwich shop and has a twin which is in someone’s back yard. I think they pulled some parts off of that one to restore the one that is standing.
@AmericanGiants Жыл бұрын
I have not seen or heard of that one. Is it a Muffler Man or another statue?
@thrillscience Жыл бұрын
He obviously was painted to look like "Alfred E Neuman". Is there any backstory on that?
@AmericanGiants Жыл бұрын
Yes it is interesting they called him a Snerd but I think they wanted to avoid copyright infringement or something. It's clear what they look like but we call them Snerds.

Although I'm not sure what they are doing with it, I heard they are taking down the giant Indian from the Red McCombs Hyundai dealership in San Antonio, Texas.
