its very difficult to see things in Black and White. Punjab is one of the very few places where terrorism came and finished within ten to fifteen years. Had militancy not been finished, we would have been more or less like Kashmir. The other thing and difference between Punjab and Kashmir is that the militancy didn't have the popular support of common people otherwise seeing the martial tradition of sikhs, its impossible to see Punjab getting back to peace.

@@Mahim19419 i think Punjab's terrorism was more extreme. It was typically a Jat Sikh vs Jat Sikh scenerio which even KPS Gill once said publically. But a lot of other people also died. However cases of extreme violence were there, like you can search Gurdev singh debu who was a militant (but was popular among Hindus as well of his area), he was boiled alive and his tongue was cut and other marks of torture were also there. You can see images of his body online as well. So I guess Punjab problem was more violent, but it is different than kashmir problem as it was not like majority of one community was against another community which was the case in kashmir.
