This should have won the Academy Award that year. The mid to late 80s was just stacked with great movie theme songs.

Yeah. I like it a lot too. Plus ending it with this song was the icing on the cake. 3 left a bad taste in my mouth though. I always wondered what happend to daniel in that movie, did he forget all those killer moves he learned over the years when he fought barnes? I wish he would have had a flash back in part 3 and show some scenes from 1 and 2 he learned in that one moment and unleash on Barnes at the end of 3.

Agreed, Karate kid 3 didn’t make sense, In KK2 Daniel beat Chosen in a real fight, and Chosen would have easily kicked Mike Barnes ass, so it didn’t make much sense why Daniel struggled in Karate Kid 3 against Barnes, the movie series is out of order , if they switched 2 and 3 in the trilogy it would have made more sense

I remember the first time I heard this song, back during early August of 1986, up in southern New Hampshire (visiting a good friend, as I'm a Boston guy), after watching this movie in the theater, at 11 years old. I was mesmerized, and speechless with rapture! God, this song brings back so many great and awesome memories of a time and age that we will probably never experience again (at least not on this plane of existence). So glad I got to experience that time, and that era, thus providing me with this amazing and spellbinding experience to draw from, and seek inspiration. What reverie that is engendered, and what euphorically nostalgic recollections this divine song helps bring about, sublime and feel good as those feelings of reflection are, and that those better times truly were! Ah, those were the days.......................back when I was ensconced in this carefree and innocent bliss.

Fun Fact everyone: Peter Cetera's "Glory of Love" was the hit theme song from The Karate Kid Part II, but it was originally meant for Rocky IV and was later rejected from the Rocky IV soundtrack before the Karate Kid sequel picked it up.

Marvel literally has nothing to do with it. In 1986, things never happened after the credits. It was ultra-rare. Back then, soundtracks were prominently featured during the end credits and that was the main reason to stay - not because you were looking to see something beyond it.

Tamlyn Tomita who plays Kumiko in this movie and Cobra Kai was the only Japanese-American celebrity in this movie who was issei -- a first generation immigrant from Japan while Pat Morita who played Mr. Miyagi, Danny Kamekona who played Sato, Yuji Okumoto who plays Chozen, Joey Miyashima who played Toshio, Charlie Tanimoto who played Mr. Miyagi's father, Marc Hayashi who played Taro, Traci Toguchi who plays Yuna, Chris Tashima who played a Rockabilly Club Dancer and Rodney Kageyama who played an Obon dancer were nisei and sansei -- second and third generation descendants of Japanese emigrants and Nobu McCarthy who played Yukie was kibei -- distinguished from nisei. I refer to her as issei because that's what Japanese-Americans who were born in Japan and then immigrated to the USA are usually referred to as while Japanese-Americans who were born and raised in the USA are referred to as nisei, sansei, yonsei and/or gosei and so on and Japanese-Americans who were born in North America and then returned to North America after being educated in Japan are referred to as kibei and also because she was born in Japan to a Japanese-American serviceman who is nisei -- a second generation descendant of Japanese emigrants and his wife who is half Japanese and half Filipino and then immigrated to the USA as an infant where she was raised and where her parents had her 2 younger brothers who are sansei -- third generation descendants of Japanese emigrants.
