The KM-17 Katz-Moses Router Plane presale is HERE! I’m so excited to announce the coolest tool we’ve ever developed. We designed this to be the best router plane on the market. It was light weight but packed lots of power. Either size battery didn't seem to make it top heavy and I'm a 64 yr old women so I really appreciated how easy it was to use...................... CORDLESS only way to go !!

There are too many great features to list them all, but it is clear that you have thought of everything, from the countersunk holes in the base for attaching an auxiliary base to the blade holder for sharpening. Two questions, and maybe I'm misunderstanding something here, but is there a depth stop? I don't quite understand the mechanics you were alluding to about precision depth adjustment. Or is it just reading off the gauge? Second question, plans for additional blades of varying widths?

Looks like there's a new best router plane on the market... hopefully. I like the versatility of my Veritas but it always seems to lose its setting or have the blade loosen at the worst possible time. I'm always having to check the knobs and screw during use. Having that rule will be handy for adjustment. There's so much slop in the Veritas, I tend to take too much of a bite, have to retract it, and then turn it back out (trial by error). If this does everything they got right without the "finicky" it's a winner for sure.

I cannot help but make the obvious comparison to the Veritas. I love my Veritas router. I also cannot help but acknowledge that if it really does nail all of the things it is trying to fix, your router plane leaves the Veritas choking on the sawdust in its wake. There isn't even a competition. None from LN, either. Everyone who uses router planes knows even the top dollar ones are fickle little beasts, but they're the best thing since sliced bread. I wouldn't work without one. If your control mechanisms can rein in even a tenth of the mechanical shortcomings built into traditional router planes, you've just done something extraordinary here for the world of hand tool woodworking. Have a seat next to Leonard Bailey. This plane is something to be excited about, no joke. Also, the timing on this business decision could not be better. This is a much needed addition to the modern retail lineup right when the market and the hobby need it the most. What a brilliant move. 👏 Now I just need to find someone who wants to buy my Veritas so I can justify buying yours.

I'm curious how sales are going? I own one of these and love it. I'm a bit of a plane snob and believe a tool should be nice to look at. This is hands down the best looking router plane on the market and it works as well as it looks.
