I'm seventy years old and have been riding since 1964 and I'd love to have a Vulcan S. You can have a lot more fun on a smaller light weught bike than you can ever have on a large heavy weight bike. As long as the smaller bike has the right powerplant, and the Kwasaki Vulcan S has it.

There’s a 3rd section of riders out there because there are those that are now 70 ish and they’ve ridden all the muscle bikes and super speed machines out there, but now just want to keep on biking on something that’s not going to give them a hernia when they have to manoeuvre it backwards up a slope or find the fastest thing to break the sound barrier because most of us older bikers have done that in the past 50 years, most now just want something that they can ride out with there mate but have a good enough turn of speed for the odd week end away travelling on duel carriage ways and motorways

A 125-400cc more like an entry level. A 650cc is more intermediate especially with the added weight. Just like clothes and shoe sizes are increasing so are horsepower on smaller bikes vs years past. For best 0-60 you must speed shift.

Most practical and indicative power test is back shift till yah can red line at 30/40 and run it out to 75 /80..or whatever your tolerance for potential speeding tickets is .. the power that counts is the sudden hard jump. Not the standing clutch dump. Let’s be honest most giggle time happens with buds, suddenly doing a quick dash or jumping around a looky Lou string of cages. From 45/50.

Thanks for your videos and integrity... with the busy-ness and notoriety that is happening, remember stay dependent on the One who watches over you guys. Love my Vulcan S! I am turning 50 this year, 6' 4" 190lbs and I just switched from my Vulcan Classic 1500. Most of my riding is daily commute and fun runs under an hour or two, so this bike hit all the right notes in my book, and riding with Harleys and Honda I fit right in anywhere.. Looked at the Rebel 500 and like it, but too small for me. Pros: Great value! Styling... lots of folks comment about the looks.The adjustable fit. The sweet spot of power after the 5000 rpm mark is addictive for making a quick scoot around cars on the highway. Low center of gravity, pretty lightweight and easy to throw a leg over. (important as I age.) Fun...fun... fun. Cons/nitpicky: Gearing is a little high-strung when used to a bigger crusier... 1-6 gears, I tend to switch gears too early by listening to engine, but I forget it likes revving higher... 4th gear at 55mph is only 500rpms different than 5th gear... so you don't get that relaxed rumble of a cruiser... but give it some gas with either gear and you will be smiling too much to care. Forward pegs take some getting used to for some. Bottom line: definitely a bike you should look into if you are shopping around.

Went and looked at one today. Went to look at the Ninja 650 and this caught my eye. It was a Matte Olive Drab and Black colorway. It was super comfortable to sit on and, I felt stretched out and relaxed. I'm 6' 1" 220 and this bike felt right to me. Now I don't know which I want because I also really love the Ninja. I had to leave to think it over.
@ismailkamaleddine70344 жыл бұрын
Take what you like. This and the ninja are completly different. Vulcan is a relaxed ride. Imagine yourself riding your sofa. You need to be careful when turning like all cruisers. Ninja is an aggressive ride. The complete opposite.

I recently discovered the Vulcan S and now i really want one. I drove some bike over the years while not having a permit so i ride like i stole it but now, older age. i tend to be more careful and civilized so i got a permit class A (Europe, Romania class permit for bikes) and try to buy one. I dont't care about 0-60 or top speed statistics not on car nor on bikes. I feel them irelevant and missguiding. The parts between 40 and 100 kph are what matters. When you enter some highway and you need stability and predictive power there is where the engine must show its true value. To wrap it up, thank you for your ride and thoughts and hope for a full walk around review. :) Cheers and safe oards out there!

Sean, I would be very honored to hear your opinion. Everyone, Thanks on any advice.

Its just what you prefer more, you need to go sit/test ride them both, but in the end its just what you prefer more from a bike.
