Good look we don't get to many "made it out" stories although there're out here. The spotlight is always on the bad . Good to learn about more positive outcomes of someone who has been there and done that. God is definitely great!!! I always wondered why individuals join gangs I've had it rough but joining gangs wasn't something that ever crossed my mind. I was approached but it was in a predatory way I caught on immediately I thank God for blessing me with a sane, intelligent, open mind even as a kid. I did my own thing to survive (sold drugs with no team profit was all mines to flip again) and once I was able to secure a home and a vehicle paid for my own education with some savings I moved on. I made it out alive and without ever getting locked up. Am blessed with 2 beautiful wonderful children am 40 yrs old now and I look back at my struggle it makes me appreciate life til this day. I was what ppl call one of the lucky ones, truth is I was blessed no luck involved.

This is by far my FAVORITE story. So much different from everything else. I’m in the county, but work in the city. I hate that every jobsite that I’m on, I’m ALWAYS the only Black carpenter. Any other Black person has a shovel or a broom in their hand. FU#K ALL THAT! I wanna change that by starting an outreach or a training program from the youth in the city.
