The Thin Man with Myrna Loy and another dog came out one year later, 1934. People today complain about movies being formulaic. The old studios pumped out the same stuff (and Thin Man sequels) over and over, too.

I've noticed some strange pronunciations from at least two of the actors. Mr. Markham says suspects strangely for one.

Powell used the classic "Mid-Atlantic accent". A few words strewn in with British upper-crust pronunciations. People spoke differently, over time. This movie is 90 years old!

Lost count of the suspects and their motives - but I did kind of pick Mr. Wrede.. Jilted lover from the beginning... when she told him she was going to marry Thom... there's that passion motive.. BUT WHO KILLED HER DOG CHILLIE... no one seemed to care who did - COE? GEEZ.
