I was born in 1981, Kenny doing Rod Stewart has always been one of my favourite clips. I had never seen him as Milton Keynes, currently crying with laughter in 2024 at the glasses getting bigger and bigger. Genius. The world needs more silly.

Kenny was a fantastic guy who's mind constantly raced at a million miles per sec, he was a true genius and is greatly missed, I watched all his shows as a little un as he started when I was 3 in 78 and ran throughout the early to the late eighties .

Early 1979. There were a lot of strikes but, even taking that into account, life was so much nicer in those days. There wasn't the division, social and sexual lunacy and environmental fear that pervades current society. People didn't walk around with their noses stuck in smartphones either. When I say smartphonrs, I mean stupidphones, of course.
@bobrew461
@bobrew461 Жыл бұрын
That is such a load of bull! "Life was nicer" for whom exactly? No division? No protests about racism and sexism back then, eh? The National Front was on the rise, with 1000s of members. They marched through Southall, an Asian area of London, just to stir up trouble. And they did! The Police should never have allowed it. But one of them (The Police) is responisble for the death of an anti-nazi protestor at that march called Blair Peach. Look him up. It's never been solved. That was just one of the many nasty events of 1979. I'm guessing you don't recall the winter of discontent either? Millenial perhaps?

They could have been big in America if only people had got to hear their zany and awesome music, but no one ever heard it there so they remain tragically unknown there. They could have changed the face of American music forever, but sadly it was not to be.

Great American Soups was a sub-brand of Heinz soups, that was launched in response to Campbell's recently-launched "The Manhandlers" sub-branding of heartier soups. The sub-brandings are long-defunct, but some of their soups still exist as part of the regular Heinz and Campbell's lines. This commercial was such a huge production that TV Guide did a "Making of" feature on it. Freberg wanted to take the mickey out of commercials that used overblown production numbers to hype mundane products, so he decided to make this soup commercial the mother of all overblown production numbers. It was shot in an MGM soundstage, and Freberg got in trouble when they found out he'd had a hole cut in the floor for the soup can to rise from.

i watched this back then..... looking back it's kind of lame. the musical acts in this show were B rate apart from Kate Bush who sang one of her crappier songs coz it was current. script writing was poor, and even the brief appearance of Sid Snot was yawnable... makes me wonder what i seen in it back then.... fortunately later episodes improved and it became watchable. Kenny also found the button marked X.... the exact opposite of Red Dwarf where the first episodes were legendary and the later runs were rehashed rubbish.
