I had the original. I think the video makes it look better than it actually is in terms of brightness. It's so dim that my eyes can barely see it in the dark. And there's so much random blotches and distortion that there's no immersion. It looks like paint.... I'm gonna get the DS1 soon and see how much better that is.

Thanks for doing this comparison. I see some chromatic aberration / color fringing in both projections, especially at 0:57. Is that visible in real life or is it just an artifact of the video recording?

Just on the video. Both of these make the room very dark and my setup struggles with it.

Is it a flat proyection or could be better inside a dome?

The Flux shows too many stars… i know many more stars are visible in really dark places, but this is too much. It seems impossible to make out constellations! Aren’t there discs that take in consideration light pollution?

only reason I'm leaning towards the Original is because it's a bit dimmer and I plan on sleeping with this. the Flux seems as though it would keep me awake

The Flux is brighter, but that is only noticeable in the projection. Neither of them leak loads of light, the room stays very dark even when they're on.
