My stand stays the same as it always has, we just need *SIZE* an athletic BIG threat maybe.. and a floor general for off the bench. neither has to be superstars but has to be super efficient at what they do. And we run it back!!.. Ingram a nice target and Markkanen if we don't have to lose size to get him.
@UnderdogDyanasty76 ай бұрын
I agree. I feel the Knicks need a 5 that can shoot it from 3 and be an offensive threat. They need a 5 that has a marc/pau gasol, brook Lopez, KP type of skillset. I think an ideal piece at the 5 for New York is Hartensteins grit and rebound ability but him being able to shoot it 35-37% from 3 and could occasionally post up. It’s not a another star just a well rounded player at the 5 with JB, Divo, OG and Randle. I would love a naz Reid type of player on this team. I just don’t know who’s the player to target without breaking up the core of the team

@@WeBleedOrangeNBlue you have to take into the Athletic part.. Not just tall.. viable and available options are at play here.. I can say better names but what's the reality of it happening? .. especially with an East coast team we have to face every other day.
@Ohh_Is_That_Sooo...6 ай бұрын
@@EBuckNY Deuce realistically isn't experienced enough to run an offense yet. Also, we still have expendable assets like Alec Burks, Bogey, Charlie Brown Jr., Shake Milton, and a ton of draft picks.. and if things get crazy good with available players, there's 2 more we can add to that list like Simms and Precious if the size and skill is right.. And we'd still have all of our core and real team! 💪🏾🗽🏀
@thomasdreher82216 ай бұрын
Note Randle's career numbers are 23 ppg and 9.4 rpg...he does produce. If one wants to replace Randle one has to get at least equal to those stats. Again make Brunson and Randle work on a pick and roll game. They create enough offensive options to give defenses trouble.
@bemo-wq8pr6 ай бұрын
I think you HAVE to run it back not because we are necessarily as good or better than Boston. But because we NEED to assess what we actually have at full strength in order to figure out what we need for the future. Who has to stay, who needs to go. We have to figure that out this season.

After comparing the average NBA height by team. The Knicks had the 2nd shortest roster only ahead of the Golden State Warriors who had the shortest roster. The Knicks could address the off-season by getting taller 3&D defenders at the guard and wing position. I wouldn't mind if the Knicks could somehow keep Hartenstein, draft Zach Edey (2nd unit), and trade Mitch.

I would submit that, unless Gianis is available or moderate prices and pics can secure Bridges, the team should remain the same.. Further I suggest Brunsin and Randle watch Stockton - Malone pick and roll tape all summer, work on that all preseason camp and Kulis develop post moves. Julius can score from the wing, pass and drive to the hole, Brunson cam drain threes, score in the lane and pass to positioned 3 pt shooters. This would force defenses into very difficult choices

While Randle’s injury is not related to minutes but a freak accident I don’t think the Knicks have to panic but…the Knicks made it to the second round without him. If Randle the difference? Against Indiana sure but not sure against Boston. Is he worth another 4 years at an estimated $191M? 😬 OG Anunoby can’t be trusted to play a full season. Depth and size is also a concern.. what about back up point guard. Leon is gonna have to meditate on this…do the Knicks package their picks and move up to jump in the 10-15 draft slot? Dunno. This isn’t the deepest draft. No easy answers for Blue & Orange.

Dumb decision giving away Obi for nothing, if u had kept him, there would have been Julius Randle replacement, Knicks have bad habit of giving up on young guns too soon. After championship seasons in the early 70's they tried to buy titles i.e. Spencer Haywood, Bob McAdoo, George McGinnis, it didn't work then and it will not work now. Follow the blueprint of what the city game is all about. It starts with a foundation, your center,u can't build a house without a foundation,it will collapse,you need strong pillars, your forwards, structurally sound, your guards, put it all together, you've got a mansion. Thats what the Knicks of the late 60's& early 70's did, and look what happened. Real Talk, Facts from a life long Knick fan, since 1968🎉
