The Key to an Incredible Voiceover Demo Reel

If you want to work in voiceover over don't have a demo yet it can be tricky to know where to begin! This video will show you how to make a demo with some sneaky tricks.

Hey! I really appreciate the ingenuity. Unfortunately, stealing someone else's video like this carries real risk. It can be a blow to your reputation if someone finds out you just superimposed your voice on top of an existing spot. Also, if the creative team, agency, or anyone else involved in the spot finds out that you've done this, they will decidedly not be happy which could negatively affect your ability to book bigger work. Grabbing inspiration from existing spots is a great idea tho because you want to sound as current as possible. You could even somewhat imitate a spot with some royalty free B Roll and music to recreate a portion of an existing spot. Anyway, happy voicing!

You're probably right. I guess it really depends on what you're trying to do with your vo career. But even if you don't think you're going to need to book big clients etc why close that door on yourself. Good points pinning this.

I think for a DIY demo it's fine, but once a VO artist wants to sign to a talent agency, especially become a Union/SAG VO talent, at that point it's recommended to get a professionally made demo from the ground-up.
