I’ve had this explained to me before, but really didn’t quite understand it as well as this. I gave it a practice this morning with great results. This will be my move for 2024. Thanks again for all your efforts.

This is my go to swing thought. Left shoulder, right shoe. Works for me. ( sometimes forget though 😮)
@johnschwartz15369 ай бұрын
Excellent job Giles in emphasizing and demonstrating how important the left shoulder is in the golf swing! For years, I started my swing with my left shoulder. Then, another instructor told me that I would get more depth in my backswing utilizing the right shoulder. So, we are now back to square one! I like what I see in your demonstrations Giles especially the "drag through drill" with the alignment stick and the golf club. And, since I am now a senior golfer, your demonstrated moves seem more natural! Well Done Giles! Always Enjoy Your Videos!!!

You can use either as your thought. Just depends on what resonates more with you

Great lesson, Giles. I appreciate having the split screen views of both the front and rear of your positions as you speak. Makes the lesson so easy to understand.

Hi Giles. request for upcoming sessions.I live in Canada and currently in the "off-season". Is there 1-3 drills I can be doing a few times a week, in my house, where I do not have access to hit balls, to get ready for the upcoming season.
@Gilesgillgolf9 ай бұрын
Well that all depends on what you need to work on. Is it the pivot you’re struggling with, clubface you’re struggling with, release?
@dangagliardi10939 ай бұрын
@@Gilesgillgolf My specific issue is that I struggle to "feel" the hand path my trail arm/hand should take. I was thinking of 1-2 all around "best" drills that help the overall swing. Maybe 1 drill for takeaway, 1 drill for transition, 1 drill for follow through, etc. but I'm not the expert ;)
@Gilesgillgolf9 ай бұрын
@@dangagliardi1093 that suddenly adds up to a lot more than 1-3 drills 😉

That’s just coaches trying to do clickbait. Of course there is rotation in the golf swing

Particularly like the part on the follow through. As a senior beginner golfer I still struggle with that part. I tend to stop moving after the impact with the ball. Hope your drill will help me fix this. Very much like your channel; not to long and always relevant! Thank you.

Again, Giles, what separates you from your peers, which are few, is you always have 3 or 4 drills for the player. This allows the aspiring golfer OPTIONS in terms of what works best for them. I personally like the hands-on knees drill the best. You can do this anywhere, and it's great for transition as well. Flexible and adaptive thinking are a part of your teaching DNA. Keep sending this great content with as many different style drills as possible.

Great lesson, probably the best in my entire golfing time. I was struggling with inconsistencies all the time due to my premature lift up of this naughty left shoulder. Yesterday I changed my swing respecting this video and performed in just one fame the best ever! Now I lnow how to proceed! Thanks a lot mate!!

Great video, Giles. I will give the "drag through" drill a go, since I usually imagine throwing a ball/stone with my right hand to a spot that is target side of the ball to get a less "handsy" release.
@Gilesgillgolf9 ай бұрын
Good luck! Should help you with your handsy release (as long as your clubface is in a good position)

Great video Giles. One of your best. I too am in the long off-season in Canada. I’ll be doing the three drills in the basement over the winter. I suffer from a bit of an inside takeaway but the combination of your “push the handle down to start the takeaway” tip from a previous video and the “lead shoulder down and around” has my takeaway more on plane with the shaft more in line with my rear forearm on the way to the top. 👍
@Gilesgillgolf9 ай бұрын

I don’t like internal focus BUT I tend to stand up and I notice it because my lead shoulder almost gets in the way of my line of sight of the ball. When I take a rehearsal swing focusing on my lead shoulder going down to start, I can then swing towards my target repeating that feel. Great video

Making solid contact, but I'm fading drives and fairway woods. Why?
@GilesgillgolfАй бұрын
Loads of factors, but essentially your clubhouse will be going left on your face will be open. This can be caused by the ball position being too far forwards but also a lot of other things. Very hard to say without seeing your swing.

Exactly the same. The shoulder working up and out the way gets the angle of attack in a good spot assuming a good setup
