Danling, you are working so hard, as usual. I hope you have someone with whom you periodically check in, or who checks in with you during your Chaumont hours. I say this because I have had two friends who were injured working on separate building properties. One did not have a cell phone with him and he had an electric saw accident where he lost part of his hand and was alone. Fortunately a family member stopped by and got him to hospital. Same for another friend, also an electric saw accident. Not trying to be fatalistic, just realistically concerned. 💗

Yes I agree, my father was building a cottage years ago and the saw got caught on something and kicked up and got his four fingers thank goodness my mom was near she had just went to get them lunch so when she saw him she got him to the hospital fast saved his life. So someone should be there or check on things through out the day . Keep rocking Dan. I love how you are making it the way it originally was what the original owners and builder envisioned.

That arch is beautifully made & your work-around form is inspired... but. Tho' it'll probably last 100yrs, wish i'd been next to you when the keystone went in on the first arch. My gehry-bump of structural engineering wants it to key in about 3" lower with its side-mortar thinner at bottom than at top. I.e. really 'wedged' into the arch. But it's only a niggle -- it'll probably be fine. Beautiful work, Dan. A pleasure to watch. Love your 'finish the job sweet' work habit. :)
