To save you 17 minutes... The key to scoring well is having a solid foundation in the content from paying attention and doing well in classes. Also along with a bazillion practice exams and getting used to the testing format. So if you winged some of your coursework, it's going to be a heavier load.

This dude is really smart, instead of just going through the motions in undergrad you can tell he invested time in actually grasping the material then instead of trying to relearn everything in 2 months during MCAT prep, that’s what you call efficiency

This guy is a really cool human. I like that despite being nerdy as heck, he doesn't sound like a robot. I agree with his input. It's way better to learn things right and stick with them. Good resources, active learning strategies, and discipline.

can you please provide info on what you did or how your day/weeks looked like for that month? thank you

I watched lecturio vids on bio chem and did the quizzy things also some physics lecturio. First week I basically went through the kaplan and outlined them and did the little quizzes in the back. Rest of the time I did block of uworld questions probably 120 a day and the mcat people's practice tests. Two caveats my highest subsections were cars and psych 131 each and I barely studied for those, former lawyer. 2 I'm historically a really good test taker.

my advice would be practice (and review) tests 70% of the time and review content for 30%

Can you please make some videos about students who start in community college than transfer to 4 year university and thn apply to Med school?
@alphaspartan3 жыл бұрын
To be honest that shouldn't make any difference whatsoever. Medical schools don't care if you attend 2+2 vs 4 at University. It's all about the "why". Let's say they asked you "why 2+2 instead of 4"? And you say "well CC is easier and I like taking the easy way out every time" sure you probably won't get into that school. 🤣 But let's say you explain "well community college is cheaper and I wanted to make the economical choice for my education" that is 100% respectable and shows maturity on your part and I guarantee you they won't hold that against you. Many universities grade inflate and many community colleges have strict grading policies. You can't assume one size or one generalization fits all.
@chrisreynolds63912 жыл бұрын
You are likely going to struggle on the MCAT especially on questions that use material from freshman and sophomore level courses. Community college courses are inevitably cut down slightly to accommodate students with more responsibilities and less background preparation. You’re going to need to be proactive in filling those gaps.
@happytobehere-o4j3 жыл бұрын
Obviously a more solid foundation will help you but at the end of the day, some people just score higher on standardized tests than others. Much more a function of how good you are at standardized tests than how much you know. You have to know it perfectly to get to a certain level, but it’s not a content based exam.

My message to future/current pre-med student would be to consider a concept suggested to me by my dear Prof of Biocoem, Dr. Zhang: "You must advance above the 'Curve of Forgetting'".
@thesneakygamer43433 жыл бұрын
Just do a ton of practice problems, see what areas you are weak in and review those areas specifically. People spend way too much time doing content review, you learn more from doing problems.
@chasitychilds69207 ай бұрын
How much content review do you suggest? Like time wise? Is a month too long ?
@thesneakygamer43437 ай бұрын
@@chasitychilds6920 I wouldn’t separate content review from doing practice problems but rather do them concurrently. You can spend the first month focusing more on content review while also doing practice problems. Then gradually increase the number of practice problems as you approach the exam.

This guy works for Blueprint and Dr. Gray is involved with promoting them on this channel. This guy could have studied for 6 months straight and just lied and said 4 weeks to emphasize the point he is making in this video. Even if the individual was not affiliated with any test prep company, I would be very skeptical if they told me they got a 520 in 4 weeks of prep.
@kmp85633 жыл бұрын
I didn't even take psychology or sociology in school. It didn't fit in my degree plan, and I think it's gonna automatically cost me about 4 points.
