This is by far the best tutorial for steaming milk I've ever watched, thank you so much for all the information and the details in every step, looking forward for the next episodes!

This is by far one of the best milk steaming videos. Covering steaming on a single hole low power machine, and a powerful 4 hole steam tip, with proper angles and close ups is so helpful. I've been having a challenge with my Gaggia Classic single hole tip, and understanding incorporation of the layers has been really integral in slowly improving.

this video is fantastic!! you're taught so often as a barista to focus on what the milk looks like or how hot it may get, but never what it sounds like when done right/wrong! so excited for my next shift to apply what I've learnt here! earned yourself a new sub! ♡

In Australia, the first thing that people would notice this is a good cafe is when you’re standing inside and the steaming sound doesn’t scream at your ears. 😊

Milk steaming is such a tricky one to do the same each time. I can find a good placement, get a nice paper tearing sound, nice and gentle on the air injection, get a great vortex, gentle careful movements. I feel like im being very consistent in my method, YET sometimes its way too thin, the other time its too thick. I pretty much never ever get it bang on, like ever. I'm using a Sage/Breville Dual Boiler. Ive watched countless tutorials of people even using the same machine. Tried them all as well. I have yet to find consistency. The best I can do is to lean towards going too thick and just accept that its too thick, at least it wont be thin which is the worst. (There is nothing worse for me than going to pour latte art and it comes out all wobbly with the thin line edges) I wish I could get it just perfect!!!

I first saw you in the video where you opened up the shop, etc. and really was inspired. Now in this one, you go into much greater detail than my old hero (Phil McKnight, Breville's Australian coffee coach) - and it's so informative. Thank You, Jessie. I can hardly wait for the morning - when I can try out all the ideas and tips that you shared!

Is there a smooth milk for coffee like Oatly that doesn’t taste like oats?
@mrpineapplecat Жыл бұрын
I have a Rancilio Silvia V6 and no matter how many attempts I just can't get my milk correct. I am always either left with it over done with too much air in and bubbly foam or else underdone and too runny, can't figure out what's going wrong I've tried following everything exact!

What about a Rocket machine? Would it be considered commercial steam power? I've used a commercial (old) marzocco steam and it seemed weaker than my appartamento.
@jessiegao_2 жыл бұрын
What I mean by commercial (in a general sense) is that it can withstand the work load if put in a commercial setting. Never seen a rocket used like that. Stean power is more about how many bars of pressure the machine produces. My Linea Mini has 1.5 bars and Feama machine I work with has 1.2 bars but feels signicially weaker even though its a commercial machine. Please refer to the manual or google for the Rocket as I never used it before
@3dus2 жыл бұрын
@@jessiegao_ Thank you for you prompt response. I loved your video, 101 for real. My gouge reads 1.1 bars but It surely feels so strong, maybe I should change the tip to a 1 hole instead of 2 hole one.
@jessiegao_2 жыл бұрын
@@3dus Yes that would absolutely help. If you work with a knob, you could also try to not turn it full way, but depends on the consistency of your steam. The numbers don't nessesarily mean too much, different machines with the same pressure will often feel different

Great tutorial! This is going to be my reference for steaming milk from now on! 🌟 Even if I’ve heard some of the things mentioned, it was sooo helpful how you aggregated everything and broken that into 3 steps. Being so detailed in each step and including different good and bad examples for steaming milk helped a lot! 🙌 Extra kudos: for also demonstrating on commercial machines (like delonghi dedica) and comparing with prosumer ones. 🫶
