The Key to Understanding Prophecy | Daniel - Lesson 20

Daniel Chapter 9 is a key prophetic passage of holy scripture which provides a precise timeline for God's dealings with His people Israel from the day the commandment went forth to restore and to build the city of Jerusalem to the coming of the Messiah, Jesus Christ. Daniel 9 also speaks of the Antichrist as “the prince that shall come”, and prophesies of what he will do with the Jewish people in the future. You will definitely want to take notes for this lesson.

People say the understanding of the difference between the church and Israel is not a salvation issue but it does indeed lead many to believe "we must endure to the end". This is very dangerous ground. Thank you brother James from brother Rob in Essex, England.

@@robbie12359 well, I won't argue that interpretation. I just thought you were saying people who don't separate the church and Israel in that way are in danger of thinking they are saved by "enduring to the end" (since you mentioned the "salvation issue")

@@iolabaptisttemple7306 The joy of salvation is robbed from those thinking they have to endure until the end and this dangerous and hindering works salvation is in turn taught widely. It's a complete misunderstanding of the finished work of Christ at Calvary. That's mine and others' concern and it is linked with poor eschatological understanding.

I'm preparing but not for the Great Tribulation I'm preparing for our next depression because no man knows when Jesus is coming back and nobody knows what's going to happen on this Earth before Jesus comes back. If it happens to be the same time whoever is Left Behind will have my Bible and whatever I have put that it will not matter to me. But I do believe these evil people are going to go ahead with what they have planned.

Christ means Messiah...we call our Lord "Messiah" everyday...just in another language... John 1:41 (KJV) He first findeth his own brother Simon, and saith unto him, We have found the Messias, which is, being interpreted, the Christ.

2 Thessalonians Paul talks to Christians about what matter ?? And then he gives them assurances that it want happen till what ?? Who are the Thessalonians Jews or gentile?? They are concerned about what ??? I write these questions in this way respectfully to invite conversation and discuss more details. I am a student of the scriptures and brother in Christ. I believe we can be faithful followers and iron sharpens iron I’ve heard many great truths from your teaching. I would love to talk about this one .

Christ and Messiah is the same word. They aren't separate roles/titles to separate people. The only difference is the language. Christ means "anointed" in Greek and "Messiah" means anointed in Hebrew. Jesus is both our Christ and our Messiah. Otherwise good message.

Thanks for the comment. However we do not go to the Greek or Hebrew, nor do we recommend others do so to understand the scriptures. The translators did that for us. After studying about the translator and how we received our English Bible I trust their understanding of the Greek and Hebrew rather than going to a Strongs Concordance. We understand there is one God with many names/titles. CJ

However when scripture themselves shows us the translation of the Hebrew and the Greek to show that they are exactly the same we should accept them. When it says clearly and directly in John 1:41 "He first findeth his own brother Simon, and saith unto him, We have found the Messias [Hebrew word], which is, being interpreted [one language word to another], the Christ [Greek Word]." Again in John 4:25 "The woman saith unto him, I know that Messias cometh, which is called Christ: when he is come, he will tell us all things." This shows clearly in English they are the same word and title translated from two languages. I agree with the general message intended in the sermon but that statement in trying to force a division or distinction between the same title Messiah and Christ (especially when the scriptures themselves go out of their way to show they are the same) is not correct doctrine.

@@BaptistChristians I totally agree. This comes directly from Sam Gipp and (as nicely as I can say it) is one of the dumbest things I have ever heard come from a Baptist preacher's mouth. I love bro. Knox and enjoy his preaching and teaching, but I am definitely not in agreement with this and wish he would correct that statement.

I understand the great tribulation is for Israel and not the church due to rapture but won't the lost also go through it or will it mostly take place in Jerusalem? God bless your ministry from Ireland.

@@devguruport I'm not a member of Bible Baptist Deland and I've not been listening to Bro Knox long at all, less than a year, nor do I even agree with everything that comes from his teaching but when comparing scripture with scripture in context from old testament to new testament bro Knox teaches this subject as Biblical as possible. As far as the lost go those whom have heard the gospel and rejected it will remain on earth at the raptureing of the Church and be given a "strong delusion" seemingly immediately. 2 Thessalonians chapter 2
