Amazon was blowing these out for stupid cheap for a little while. The neck is really quite nice. The bridge pickup is too "hair metal" for jam band/bluesy stuff. With a set of old Gibson humbuckers (or pick your faves) it's got a nice tone to it. The Wilkinson tuners and bridge are solid and better than a lot of cheaper instruments (looking at you Squier Affinity) If you like flat necks and need a simple rock/punk/what have you guitar there's a lot to like.

I picked a Sawtooth Strat with an Alder body and maple neck. I really like it. Bone nut, frets are good and even the single coils are nice. Found it on Amazon for 169.00. A returned item. Came with nice strap, decent cable and a soft gig bag.

In all fairness the most of the sound is from the pickups, pots, switch, bridge, nut and tuners have more impact on it than the wood itself. And most are using alternative woods for under 300 dollars.

My old 1977 made in japan Greco les paul standard is made with sycamore. It's a quality guitar on par with a gibson.

I have this guitar as well as the MT24 they put out. This one is really a nice guitar for the price point for sure. One thing to note: It is extremely light compared to other guitars in its category. Honestly, I doubt it's more than 5 lbs.

With the competitive guitar manufacturing market and premium channels like Max, its no wonder I have a room full of guitars with a modest salary. The last few years, including right now is soo much better for guitars in terms of quality to price ratio and the same way with gear. I remember when any guitar with a $500 price tag or less was basically junk....And $300 or less was a gag gift and completely unplayable.

This guitar is cool....but the one that peaks my interest is the sawtooth hybrid guitar which is a Tele and a strat in one guitar. For only 800$ that's not bad but the only downside is only 22 frets I believe.

I just bought a Schecter w/passive pups (SD Invader clones) they disgust me(noisy to boot) ordered an EMG Holt set for it, I don't think I could ever go back to passives

@@GuitarMAXMusic I played Gibson and Seymour Duncan passives back in the 90's. Then I wasn't active in music for about 10 years, and when I came back I thought WTH Hetfield was one of my big heroes so why not try EMG(I tried a Jackson custom Dinky in Florida one time with 2 81's but the battery was almost dead) So I bought an Ibanez 7 string with 707's. It took some getting used to but once I adjusted to the feel I was hooked. Love the quiet operation and I think they sound very good clean (where some people complain about that). The trick with EMG is always using at least 18 volts to power, 9 volts is just enough to get them to work but they are underpowered, more volts solves the headroom/clarity issues some whine about. You can get a 24 volt battery pack for like 12 bucks on ebay that's perfect
