is iblees singular or are there many, since both iblees and the jinn have autonomy are the jinn the progeny of iblees? forgive my ignorance

There is one iblees, which is referenced in the Quran as well. Iblees was among the jinn which are another creation of Allah. Iblees aka sheitan is one and he has many followers and other jinn and humans that are obedient to him that do his work for him. Not sure about the progeny part. It’s says in Surah Qaaf that every person has a sheitan (called qareen in the surah) attached to him/her

I rmbr reading the translation of the quran many years ago & seeing a verse similar to what Sheik Yasir Qadhi mentions in this lecture. But I cant find it now. But I have a question that Iblis(the jinn-shaitan) is the enemy of insan because of the superiority of insaan over jinns as mentioned in Qur'an so iblis misguides insaan but why does iblis misguides jinns? Why is he having animosity with jinns as he knows that non obedience to Allah is the path towards jahannam?

The devil hates man because the devil is jealous of Man, who is created in the Image of God. The devil has made a totally irrevocable decision to totally reject God. Man still has free will to choose to accept or reject God. The devil knows man can enter heaven whilst he cannot enter heaven

Iblis alone cant deceive all mandkinds so he has to recruit shayatin (from among jinn and humankinds). Also the commandment to worship Allah is both for jinn and human, both have free will to obey or disobey. Wallahu a'lam.

Assalaamualaikum. If Iblees does not have any power to control us, then how does Jinn posession happen? I ask this question because I've heard some people using the ayah mentioned in this video as a daleel to reject "Jinn Posession".

Power to control mean, a human can't say i did this crime or gunnah due to Ablees as he only whispers you but can't control you or your actions. Jinn's possession is nothing to do with this topic.
