Did this guy really say not at all dangerous in the slightest and ridiculously gentrified? Look up Redfern suicide towers and Redfern riots, you can still get hurt badly around the drysdale flats. The highest density public housing in all of Australia, large Indigenous population, 10 year olds have literally stabbed each other there. Ive lived there for 2 weeks, its horrific, junkies living on top of each other, and a predatory environment littered with syringes and drugs and people searching for weak targets to take advantage of. Elderly residents used to get robbed there going to their own mailboxes so they put reenforced doors on all the walk-up flats and high rise housing commission. Some of these kids may be junkies, but most of them actually can pluck a lot of money off their surroundings. Most of Redfern is gentrified now, but the city public housing has some of the most tightly packed drug infested slummy houso in the whole of Sydney in Glebe, Waterloo/Redfern, Woolloomooloo, Erskineville, Newtown, Marrickville, Millers point ETC, Mount Druitt stole their dress code from there. Gunshots are only common in dealer on-dealer violence, but adults brawling in the street and carrying weapons (mainy blunt) is witnessed almost day to day from a young age.

Lived my teens in Brixton/Streatham (South London) England - that was ghetto. Was born in Mt Druitt - closest thing you'll find to a ghetto in Aus which is mostly full of amazing people but you only notice the junkies unfortunately. Also lived in Waterloo for 3 years. Was also homeless twice. The most 'ghetto' thing I seen in Waterloo was when some wannabe thug pulled a knife on some little guy at the skate park, and the skater cracked him in the face with his skate board, and the kid with the knife cried and ran away..
