jason king no...for 2 reasons: 1: hunting is illegal, therefore in all the times I've been hunting I've never seen a fox get killed, i know some hunts may break the law but the hunt I follow do not (the other is a bloodhound hunt which I hope you know since you seem to be acting like a smart arse, hunt a voluntary human "quarry"). 2: even if the hounds did kill a fox, they would kill it instantly (unlike a gun, poison, snare etc.) so the fox wouldn't have time to make a noise. Btw I'm not old enough to have hunted before the ban, I've hunted a lot for the last few years though and I have never seen a fox killed. I go hunting because I love the hounds, countryside and I own a very nervy horse that benefits a lot from going hunting because it makes him braver.
@OneMoreMileAnHour8 жыл бұрын
jason king we were out yesterday for nearly 5 hours, didn't see a peep of a fox. Just had a great, mad day's hunting! Very exciting but only following lines (pre-laid scents).
@zebbox8 жыл бұрын
+Rammixcuba *"1: hunting is illegal, therefore in all the times I've been hunting I've never seen a fox get killed"* well let me educate you - if you check the video title you'll see it refers to a kilkenny hunt. - kilkenny is in the republic of ireland where hunting is legal - n. ireland (part of the uk) is likewise. i've about four dens that i know of on my land - i see foxes regularly & they've never given me any real trouble that would warrant me killing them. however i've seen several exhausted screaming foxes ripped apart - even when they go to ground the scumbags haven't got the human decency or even the thought of any fair play to let them be. 25+ dogs on 1 fox is hardly a fair fight in my book however a coward might try to say otherwise. goodbye
@OneMoreMileAnHour8 жыл бұрын
jason king never said it was fair, and yeah I know it's legal in Ireland (they've got the right idea!) They get ripped apart once they die, the hounds kill them then eat them. If you're jealous that's your problem.

Brooklyn you're wrong mate, it's actually a lot of fun and this particular bit of country looks as though it would be spectacular to hunt over. I can also allay any fears you have as to its cruelty. Fox control is necessary and this is a quick way, and the least cruel way, of doing it.
@almondmilk98327 жыл бұрын
Tom Nutts So if it's fun then it's ok?.. Well. Yes, animal control is needed, but I have to disagree on something. Being attacked by a lot of hounds at once. Biting, scratching and tearing, is not quick. The death the follows through from a hunt is hardly peaceful.
@user-bh4rx8mf8g7 жыл бұрын
No, nothing is 'ok' just because it is fun. The fact that it is fun to gallop over the country with your mates is beside the point and should not be used as a justification. In fact, the actual animal control aspect of the hunt is not the source of the enjoyment (hence many people go riding with no involvement in hunting, and hence the popularity of drag hunts and bloodhounds). As for the "biting, scratching, tearing" comment: this is one of the most often-repeated lies of the anti-hunting lobby. The idea that the quarry is ripped limb from limb while still alive. This is, fortunately, not the case. If it were true I certainly would strongly condemn hunting. The hounds despatch the quarry as quickly and cleanly as possible, most commonly with a bite to the neck. You only have to see similar animals in the wild, be it African hunting dogs, wolves, leopards, polar bears or whatever else, to see how hunting animals seek to despatch their prey in as energy-efficient and quick a manner as possible. With an animal that is smaller than them this will be with a good firm bite to the neck. I cannot understand why people who purport to understand animals and nature forget all they know about how predators hunt, and throw their knowledge out of the window the minute the anti-hunting lobby start ladling out their dishonest rhetoric. You might respond to this that you have actually seen footage of hounds tearing apart a fox or a hare. Well this is true: at the end of the hunting day, the hounds are given their 'reward' to 'break up'. You might find this savage, but cruel it is not- the animal has been dead for hours by this point, and the act is no more cruel than a diner cutting up a steak with a knife and fork.

Well you could watch your pet get torn apart by the fox. Or ask the farmer losing his small livestock to foxes. Foxes are predators. Within seconds the fox is dead. And the huntsman doesn't allow the fox be torn apart. Not in our hunt.

Also look at the beautiful dogs that slowly rip apart the fox that has no chance of surviving because there a more than ten dogs chasing it. But guys its so beautiful, ha no it not. Usually saddlebreds, rocky mountain, Tennessee Walkers, not hunters, thoroughbreds. I've complained about this. Note" the horses in our hunts usually live long lives. The horses are well cared. 1st because we LOVE them. They come before us. 2nd most of these are expensive. And cared for. @@avagaynor8241 that doesn't make it right. Sure the dogs get their exercise and do what they like to do. But the fox is not almost instantly dead. It's an animal. They feel pain. Foxes are intelligent and stay with their mates their entire lives. they're awesome animals with feelings. You can even keep foxes as pets because of their ancestry. The horses can get injured very easily when the ground has holes, is slippery, or uneven in general. When trotting or even running on asphalt or rocks they can damage their muscles, tendons, bones, back, etc. Permanently. This sport has brought more pain than good.
