Just keep coming back to this song. Rare to find a live performance that’s actually better than an already great studio version.

“Any of you people ever loved somebody? Sometimes it comes very quickly, very easily. As easy as the way a beautiful English girl’s hair falls across her shoulder, and sometimes it disappears just as quick. You wake up one morning, the butterflies stop fluttering, but you want it back and you want to fight for it. You wanna breathe that fire again so you call for it, you call out.” - Brandon Flowers reciting during For Reasons Unknown,Live From The Royal Albert Hall.

This is my drunk and deep thinking song. It takes me down a deep rabbit hole that makes you question your decisions in life. Who you love, who you think about, who matters most to you, and most importantly, who you absolutely cannot live without. Ok I’m done

I pack my case, I check my face I look a little bit older I look a little bit colder With one deep breath, and one big step I move a little bit closer, I move a little bit closer For reasons unknown I caught my stride, I flew and flied I know if destiny's kind, I've got the rest on my mind Well, my heart It don't beat, it don't beat the way it used to And my eyes They don't see you no more And my lips They don't kiss, they don't kiss the way they used to And my eyes don't recognize you no more For reasons unknown For reasons unknown It was an open chair We sat down in the open chair I said, if destiny's kind, I've got the rest on my mind But my heart It don't beat, it don't beat the way it used to And my eyes They don't see you no more And my lips They don't kiss, they don't kiss the way they used to And my eyes don't recognize you at all For reasons unknown For reasons unknown I said, my heart It don't beat, it don't beat the way it used to And my eyes don't recognize you no more And my lips They don't kiss, they don't kiss the way they used to And my eyes don't recognize you no more For reasons unknown For reasons unknown For reasons unknown For reasons unknown

When they first sang this, it was still keenly felt - by whom? Brandon was happily married - but later, like at TRNSMT in 2018, it has a really zippy moving-on feel. Great song, it works either way 👌🏻

The first time I heard this song on the radio I immediately downloaded it as my phone ringtone, my husband is 15 years older than me and I dedicated this song to him for when he will be old long before I will 🙂 - for me its still a very sweet song of getting old but still love your other half no matter if they can't see you the way they used to or kiss the way they used to - will still love him to bits🥰
