I'll never quite understand the salt thrown at people for discovering music through a television show other than by some other means. I'm always thrilled when I hear a favorite artist of mine get some airplay and new fans because of a TV show.

It doesn't really matter how you find the band if you appreciate their music. I discovered The Kills just because of Kate Moss's relationship with Jamie, and I'll tell you i'm bloody glad I did because they are one of the most brilliant bands! What works out really well is that The Kills get extra attention because people who never heard of this group or the song want to find out who performed the song. So advertising for the group and also it adds some awesomeness to whatever show it is on. Profitable both ways!
