The Kim Wilson Blues All-Stars Live at KNKX Public Radio

In this KNKX Studio Session, singer and harmonica player Kim Wilson goes three rounds with blues, accompanied by two of his All-Stars: guitarist, Kirk Fletcher and pianist, Barrelhouse Chuck. The set includes two old blues tunes - "Bad Boy" by Eddie Taylor, and "That's Alright" by Jimmy Rogers. They cap it off with one of those spontaneous jams that just seem to happen when three talented friends are having a ball playing the blues together.

Kim Wilson is an excellent singer, and harp player. Me and a friend and my bro talked to him after a show and I told him of this difficult situation I had gone thru and how his helped me along. He went out to his bus and tried to get me a harmonica however, they had locked everything up. Nicest guy. Thanks for all the great music you've performed Kim.

Kim was born to play harp. He was a monster 40 years ago and has only gotten better. Thanks for this spectacular performance. I wish he toured with his blues revue again. I'd like to see a few sets of straight classic blues. RIP Jimmy, Eddie, and Chuck. I saw them all in small clubs many times. You don't get any smoother than Jimmy and Eddie. Kim does the songs of those legends proud.

I remember Kim back in Austin Texas, the late 1970s and 1980s , he used to wear a turban , he was so cool, he played all over town, his work with the Fabulous Thunderbirds was great, he is a great harp player as good as they come

I play harmonica. In the early to mid eighties I lived in Goleta just a few blocks from where Kim lives. At that time I had no knowledge of who Kim was. He was there all along and I am just finding out about Kim now.

My bad, 1st Pos on an A harp (Key of A) on the first tune, "Bad Boy." Second tune "That's Alright" is 2nd Pos on an A harp (Key of E) and same for the last one, which they clearly just made up is 3rd Pos, (Key of B). Gotta love carrying one A harp and doing your studio gig. Easiest load in on offer, haha.

Barrelhouse Chuck is tough. All these guys are...To the harp players asking questions, this is first position on an A harp all the way. And I don't know what my man is on about talkin' about disagreeing on the changes...it's 12 bar w/ a quick IV thrown in on the vocal verses to heighten the tension a little...doesn't get too much more straight up than that.
