I recently realized that I was addicted to stuff that cured my boredom(still working on it) and then another youtuber brought to my attention that we should deny ourselves daily and I have to say it does help with when I need to meditate on the things of God plus u find even more nuggets in the word and sermons.

Do you truly find peace and happiness through worldly desires? While yes it does give some dopamine, but verily so such feelings are fleeting. True joy comes from peace which is gained through Christ. I suggest you read the Bible and pray more it’ll help with your faith.

Love the Lord with all your heart with all your soul will all your mind, with all your strength. True love can make you change. True love will not leads to little faith, if your struggling to love don't worry, ask God he will give you strength to love him. People asked John when he was old age, says how to obey God, he said love your God with all your mind and soul and as your brothers and sisters. And they asked him again, he smiles and said the same. Love can cover many. Remember God loves you.

Joy is not gained through worldly desires such as partying or undermining others. True joy is gained through peace and that peace comes through Christ. I suggest you read the Bible and start praying more, there are so many guides online. God bless and goodbye.

I have this great fear that if I truly commit 💯 to God He will take away all my fun, and make me miserable. That I won't be able to enjoy life, relationships, humour etc but that it's gonna be restrictive, like a little bit robot, and I'll be overly spiritual and weird. After all, we're supposed to lose our lives, right? I can't even explain it, but I've carried this fear for years while simultaneously trying to stay on God's path and it's gotten be nowhere because I don't have the true faith, which trusts God 100%, no matter what. How can I fix my faulty ideas and follow Him gladly, like the man who found the treasure and sold everything else WITH JOY? Thanks for reading ❤

I understand where you're coming from. I think there are at least a couple things to remember. 1) Sin is bondage, which will ultimately cause us pain. Any pleasures we get from sin is temporary. 2) Jesus came to make us free. I love the verse that says "Delight yourself in the Lord and He will give you the desires of your heart." Commit to God, and you will have a fuller, joy-filled life. ❤️

@@GraceBaptistNokomis thank you for a quick reply. Actually, I didn't mean sin (which I know only gives temporary pleasure) but just enjoying life in general, like having clean fun, joking, enjoying relationships with family and friends, books, music, hobbies, watching movies etc. I'm often confused as to what a truly committed to God life looks like, and how much freedom to do those things we actually have. Is there a balance or does Jesus expect us to be so focused on Him and things of eternity that we can no longer enjoy the above?

I love your heart! This is definitely a good question. All of those things can definitely be part of a life that's glorifying to God. The motivation in which we do things makes all the difference. If we seek to love others the way God has loved us, we can do all sorts of things that are fun, and display His love through us. The example I use with my kids all the time is that if we just play video games all day, it can be sin because it can be a waste of time, and a selfish way to seek entertainment. But if we play video games with others, and encourage them while we play, it can definitely be glorifying to God. The point is that God cares more about the condition of our hearts. God bless you!

@@lonewanderer_n7 hey I think God is not surprised or angry with our doubts and questions. I am still in the process of getting over FOMO. Have you listened to the guy Chip Ingram? He's a Bible teacher, he's so wise but also so down to earth and he unpacks many of those questions we have. I especially recommend his series True Spirituality, it's here on KZbin, too :)

Womp womp “you get to live a life you don’t really want. You get to live a life God wants you to live. And you’ll be happy doing it.” is what I hear. It’s awfully similar to “you’ll own nothing and be happy..” 🤔 What ever would we do if we didn’t have others to tell us what to want and what to do??
@GraceBaptistNokomis

You make valid points. I believe God wants us to be happy, which includes freedom, and freedom is not the ability to do evil, but to do good. God bless you.

How can you have freedom from sin, if you remain sinners?
@GraceBaptistNokomis
@GraceBaptistNokomis Ай бұрын
Freedom from sin is found in Jesus, not in perfection. In other words, we're free from sin because Jesus already died for our sin, not because we suddenly stopped sinning (although we certainly want to rejoice in the salvation that we have in Jesus).

@@GraceBaptistNokomis That is double standards and hypocritical. So you are a sinner, and believe the Messiah lives in you. Yet He does not dwell with darkness: 1Jn 1:6 If we say that we have fellowship with Him, and walk in darkness, we lie and are not doing the truth. 1Jn 1:7 But if we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of יהושע Messiah His Son cleanses us from all sin. He tells us to be perfect, but you disagree with our Messiah? Is He lying? Mat 5:48 “Therefore, be perfect, as your Father in the heavens is perfect. This He said, just after He taught the Torah/Commands. That would strongly suggest that we are made perfect in obeying His Commands, in order for Him to live in us! Jesus is NOT the Hebrew Messiah of the Bible. Because His followers disobeys His Word and done away with the Covenant YHWH made with His children. Yahusha is the Hebrew Messiah who came in the Father's Name and Jesus is the Greek false messiah who came in his own name. This is Scriptural.... Joh 5:43 “I have come in My Father’s Name and you do not receive Me, if another comes in his own name, him you would receive. You can NOT e a sinner and be saved. 1Jn 3:6 Everyone staying in Him does not sin. Everyone sinning has neither seen Him nor known Him. 1Jn 3:7 Little children, let no one lead you astray. The one doing righteousness is righteous, even as He is righteous. 1Jn 3:8 The one doing sin is of the devil, because the devil has sinned from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of Elohim was manifested: to destroy the works of the devil. The only way to be saved is with Yahusha living in you, and so by His power we overcome sin and death. BY loving Him and obeying Him, we receive His and the Father's Spirit to live in us, and the devil/sin flees from you. Joh 14:23 יהושע answered him, “If anyone loves Me, he shall guard My Word. And My Father shall love him, and We shall come to him and make Our stay with him. If you love Him you WILL obey His commands. Obedience to His Word is the evidence of your love for Him! Joh 14:15 “If you love Me, you shall guard My commands. HalleluYAH!!!

Those things aren't inherently sinful, a quote from Saint Augustine I believe “Live your physical and spiritual life as if it were your last.” Exercising is amazing and trains discipline. I suggest you read the Bible and pray to God more it’ll help you differentiate sin and grow your faith.
