This misunderstanding heavily warps the image of Sukuna in the readers's brains. If Sukuna was a cursed spirit, that would imply that he got killed by something. When that is definitely not the case. In fact, it's the opposite, Sukuna agreed to become a cursed object by Kenjaku because it meant he could experience the golden age of jujutsu he once conquered before. He wanted another battlefield where he could test his skills, get stronger and enjoy his living. "The King Of Curses" title mainly refers to the fact he is the king of cursed energy, not cursed spirits.

1.) Yes. It is shown during Sukuna's fight against Gojo that Agito(fusion between Nue Totality, Round Deer, and Funeral Tiger) was able to heal itself with RCT to protect itself from Gojo. Since Agito's RCT comes from Round Deer, it's safe to assume that Round Deer can also heal itself. 2.) My understanding is that Round Deer cannot nullify cursed techniques. However, it can nullify cursed energy because it can use RCT. This is seen during Sukuna's fight against Yorozu. Round Deer used its RCT to nullify the cursed energy within Yorozu's liquid metal. Round Deer cannot stop cursed techniques directly like the Inverted Spear of Heaven can.

The easiest and biggest evidence that Sukuna isn't a curse is that he can use RCT and heal his injuries with RCT. A curse can heal with normal curse energy (since they made out of negative emotion and all) and they would've exploded if positive energy generated from RCT enters their body (Like what Yuta did to the Cockroach curse).

More likely the latter since we've seen his true form looks similar to Yuji. It is also possible that Kenjaku enhanced Yuji's body to make him a perfect vessel by adding Sukuna's blood to him the same way he did for himself and the Death Womb Paintings, making Sukuna his "father".

He never died. At some point in the Heian era, Kenjaku approached Sukuna with a sales pitch about the merger and culling games, they struck a deal and Sukuna learned from Kenjaku how to turn himself into his cursed objects, and the rest is history.

As its been said, his original form highly resembles tengens evolved body. I think what this means is sukuna mustve done something to forcefully evolve his body to become perfectly suited for a sorcerer. Maybe he fought so much at the highest level during the golden age his body naturally evolved through the sheer amount of battles he has experienced. His body is fitting of the strongest sorcerer so gaining it through battle makes the most sense.

I thought humans could become curses? So can't a powerful sorcerer become a curse and still essentially be the same if strong enough. Thats what i though about Sukuna, he was so op as a sorcerer and curse user that when he died he just became a curse/soul was in his fingers essentially becoming a curse through his cursed objects aka fingers.

Yes, but only if they die with strong negative emotions they will turn into a cursed spirit or object (if they aren't killed by a CT). However, Sukuna like all the other incarnated curse users in the Culling Games were turned into cursed objects by Kenjaku and were given vessels to return back to life in the present time - don't know if you're up to that part in the manga yet but it's a not a huge spoiler since it's explained that incarnated sorcerers like Sukuna are participating in the culling games.

@samuraitadpole5459 No, that is very much still them. It's called a vengeful cursed spirit whenever someone dies and their soul becomes a cursed spirit. Sorcerers are more likely to become vengeful spirits than non-sorcerers, but it's not a sure thing.

Uramei said hakari feels like he's transcended beyond human and is on the verge of becoming a cursed. We've seen sukunas normal state, he's probably a hybrid of sorts. He did tell mahoraga if he was in his normal state he'd have died immediately

He said something along the lines of, 'If I were a cursed spirit, I'd be a goner,' and a few panels later he said, 'If it were me from that time,' referring to when he only had three fingers, 'it may have been able to defeat me.' You are either confusing the two or parroting someone else, which is much more likely. Also, why does a cursed spirit instinctively know how to use reverse cursed technique? That would be suicidal.

its also important to clarify that it was Kenjaku that, with his unique knowledge, turned Sukuna into those 20 fingers to be reincarnated later. This is why I think Kenjaku specifically created Yuji. To be the "cage" that can contain and control Sukuna.
