Infact I don't even like the 3d version because they are incapable of producing any masterpiece soundtrack or new player. This is why a project should not be stretched like elastic when story ends. One day I hope they make an entire anime series on KOF from start to finish. Kyo is a baddass and non-cliche character that's charismatic. Plus, there are hundreds of characters in KOF, each with layered stories, which for a fighting game is super impressive.

My favorite is Hanoko's story. She just wants to be a sumo but traditions and her stature keeps people from taking her serious. I would love to see her arc get a satisfying ending, she's got such heart and unique design for what amounted to a side character

@Koyltrane there are anime series that also does this though (notably Pokemon, Detective Conan, etc). And nothing would prevent the anime from slightly shaking the chronology to make more sense. The real issue is that it would be such a ambitious, large scale, long term project that no one is ever going to greenlight it.
