I used to fly Kingfisher from Bangalore to London. Till date the best service any infian airline had ever given. I even flew Kingfisher once from Bangalore to Delhi and i had gotten a bit late and aKinngrisher emoloyee waited for me at the boarding centre and personally escorted me yhrough security check to the flight.

Really very nice review and narrative. Kudos to the team. Yes, it's an experience to remember to fly with Kingfisher. Everybody mentioned most of the things, but one thing that is still rare in domestic flights is a personal screen and headphones. You may agree that in those days, smartphones were neither common nor affordable. And a personal screen is a different level of luxury for middle-class people.

I don't think Vijay was a scammer. His only issue was not letting the airline business go until it was too late. He tried hard and failed but, in the process its employees suffered the most while no change came in his life. The employee suicide and the 60th party just changed him from the king of good times to a ruthless fraud He did offer to pay back all creditors their money back but the PSUs aka government denied settlements as that would result in absolving of any faults in accumulating the funds in the first place. He is a victim of change politics but nevertheless, he did have a good run while he could.

There are quite a few missing links here - Example Kf beer was started even when Vittal Mallya was alive. It was Vijay Mallya who diversified from spirits to breweries, disinvestment in Bayer, Kissan and other verticals just to fuel his ambition of launching an airline as a gift to his son, the turbulence within the family, Kf was a full service carrier which also had business class but the business model underwent numerous changes, money for advertising in airline siphoned off to offshore accounts, so many incorrect or incomplete examples in this story…

For the loan part I disagree, for common man they need to do the screening and asset collaterals, because he is very inambitious in his requirement of loans, for Vijay Mallya and Modi, those guys are one in life time Businessmen who can turn the tides, and have past record of running companies worth billions.
