I'm a huge fan of long range fpv and I think it's thrilling every time I go out far. I own a custom Chimera7 with 8" Props and 186Wh 6S2P 21700 Li Ion which achieves a range of more than 30km 😁 The issue is that I only get very few opportunities to fly in during vacation because my family doesn't let me do my stuff 😭😂

@@benmast3r865 do 8" props fit the original Chimera 7? Which kv motor option did you choose? I have the original freestyle version with 1800kv motors. The only customization I've done is a diversity receiver, isolated and grounded components and HD Zero video system. I love this thing! Don't think I can reach 30km range like you though.

Mike, been waiting on some fpv videos! You're one of the reasons why I fly today and I've been flying for almost 3 years now! I'm a fan of LR but too afraid to push the limits! lol I fly a Rekon5 for my LR and surprisingly it holds it's own very well even in super windy conditions. My daily is no other than the Nazgul Evoque DC 5" 6s! Love the content, keep them coming!

Absolutely love the Chimera 7 Pro. Been flying mine for the last few weeks and it would have to be my favourite quad now. @Peter Amster I haven't pushed it too far, but my last flight outward was around 1.8Km. Signal was still fine. Flight time and distance will very much depend on your setup. I run Crossfire at 1W output and DJI goggles at 1200mw with patch and omnis. I also change between LiPo and Li-on batteries depending on how much punch I want to fly with, and get upward of 10-15 mins with reserves. Definately my favorite quad so far. 👍

Would you recommend this over the DJI camera drones? They are pretty long range as well and have a reliable GPS rescue.

Yeah I’m a big fan of long range fpv with the original Chimera 1300kv. It’s such a great drone for cruising no matter how big a li-ion you put on it. I do like the side skirts on the pro though 😎

Why are you not a fan of ELRS? ELRS range is technically better than crossfire. And its open source so no company can hike the prices like TBS does for crossfire.

Hello! On this config, c7p and gp10, what fov are u using? When I use wide and under 30 degrees gp tilt, the props are getting in view on some turns even if it is a DC profile. Thanks!

Awesome vid, quick Q: When I ran 2x batteries on my RC cars I thought I’d doubled the cell count? So, 2 x 6S batteries with the double connector still remains 6S not 12s? Thanks so much

In this case it remains 6S yes, it uses the charge from both of them simultaneously!

You can hook up two or more batteries in series or parallel. One doubles the volts, the other doubles the capacity.

great stuff. I ordered a chimera pro v2 from dji 03 and all my excitement went away when i absolutely could not connect to the rc2 and so far no result and will probably send it back and stay with dji fpv, disappointment unfortunately. Do you have any advice what could be wrong .

Those are for different use case. Can’t really compare a cinewhoop to a long range setup come on now. Best would be what works for you.

Definitely next on my list unless something better comes by before the end of the year. I already cover 2km range with my evoque on 3000mAh Li-ion so that keeps me happy until I update to a 7 inches.

Like to see max flight time (smooth 30mph flight) with two 6s2p 6000mah geprc batteries. (12,000mah) .. big motors 7.5" props should be able to lift the weight and mountain surf cinema smooth filming. Nice speeds possible with 120a available

What's the best dji fpv goggles antenna for that drone something that can go at least 6 miles?

I have the DJI Goggles V1 and the Iflight Crystal HD Patch connected to the top SMAs, plus the Menace Pico Patch LHCP connected to the bottom SMAs. I have been out 10km with it (6 miles) and still had enough Megabits to see what's going on. It's a good and compact solution and I will keep it. You can however achieve better signal with helicoil antennas but these are too big and awkward for me 😂😂😂

Probably not a good idea. A Cinewhoop (maybe the iFlight Protek35) would do a far better job for this specific task.

Yes, depends if you are looking directly at drone or you’re flying behind you for example. If you keep direct visibility with it it should be fine for a looong distance

I guess you mean the goggle reading in the lower left corner? I just means your fpv signal is getting worse, but nothing to worry too much about. The critical reading is the data rate in the lower right corner. If it's reading only a few Megabits you should try to improve your patch antenna orientation or consider turning around and head back. But all of this has nothing to do with your crossfire control link. How exactly did you lose your drone?
