I would have taken just about anyone else seriously, he's just so dislikeable and his voice is not a great fit. Jon Favreu is officially a freaking genius. The Jungle Book was amazing and I have no doubt that The Lion King will be incredible. I am so grateful that Favreu took so much care and love in doing this film the way we all did growing up with this cherished film. Thank you very much for this movie... It was amazing from the 1st second till the last. I cried for 2 hours. SO SO SO touching and all animals are so cute.. you just can feel their fur and cuteness on the screen. And characters became deeper. Everything is so genious and gorgeous!

Totally agree! I'm so looking forward to this version and I'm sure that I'll love it, but being the original my favourite animation film of all times and one of my favourites and given how much I loved the original voices, I'm sure that in that regard it will be very hard not to be let down, but hey, long live the King!

James Earl Jones reprises his role as Mufasa, and is notably the only surviving original cast member to make a return. Shahadi Wright Joseph and Florence Kasumba are unique for being the only two cast members who have previously portrayed their characters in the theatrical adaptation. The main vocalist for this film's version of Circle of Life is Lindiwe Mkhize, who has performed the song in the stage version in her longtime role as Rafiki since 2005.
