What a great tradition of great singers that have sang with the Kingsmen. The group they have today is one of the best in 20 years. They continue to bless us with great music and what's even better is, their music leads lost souls to our Lord and saviour Jesus Christ! They've been around since 1956 or so. Eldridge Fox joined the Silvertones around about that time, and, within the next 2 years, the Silvertones became the Kingsmen Quartet. They've been one of the most entertaining groups ever in Southern Gospel Music! One guy, Big Jim Hamill, really knew how to work a crowd. With the funny stuff that he did, he made ya feel like you didn't have to go to one of their concerts, and sit there like a wooden Indian. You could be like a Comanche Indian, and clap your hands, shout, and praise God, if you wanted to. He gotcha fired up!!! So did the music! You left their concerts feeling like you'd been to a kind of church where you could praise God in Spirit and in truth!!!

The kingsmen will always be my all time favorite gospel quartet. I was introduced them back in 91-92 and followed them ever since.

There is a spot on the last verse the first time where Brandon Reece (drummer) is just jamming with the spirit! I always look forward to seeing him as Arthur Rice can always hold some of those notes the best I have ever heard! God Bless them all as they are still singing for Jesus! ❤

ARTHURS IN HIS 50'S, BUT HES STILL MORE THAN GOT IT!!! LOL!!! I HAD THE LIVE ALBUM IN 1985 WHEN ARTHUR PLAYED THE BASS AND WAS ABOUT 21, AND A BACK UP SINGER! CAN U IMAGINE?? THEY WOULD BRING HIM OUT AND LET JIM SING THAT 1 SONG, AND MAYBE ONE MORE! BUT THATS WHAT MADE THE KINGSMEN GREAT AS HE SAID, THEY WERE ALWAYS GIVING NEW GUYS AN OPPORTUNITY TO BREAK INTO THE BUSINESS! CREDIT THE LATE ELDRIDGE FOX FOR THAT! ARTHUR IS PROBABLY ONE OF THE MOST UNDERRATED LEAD SINGERS OF ALL TIME! WHEN HE GOT STARTED, HR WAS OVERSHADOWED BY THE NUMEROUS LEAD SINGERS THAT BURST ON THE SCENE DURING THIS TIME. LIKE MICHAEL ENGLISH, IVAN PARKER, THE CLAYTON INMAN , ETC ..... BUT, HES THE ONLY ONE I LISTED THATS GOTTEN BETTER OVER TIME! THATS HARD FOR A LEAD MALE TO DO, BECUZ AS WE AGE, EVEN IF WE TAKE CARE OF OUR VOUCES, WE WILL LOSE 2-3 NOTES IN THE UPPER REGISTER! AND THIS GUY HASNT HELD BACK EVER! HE SINGS WITH ALL HIS GOT EVERYTIME!!! SOHHH, GREAT JOB ARTHUR RICE!!!!!

You need to look up the Kingsmen 40th anniversary where he has a bald head. He sang this same song and he held the note for 32 seconds while walking across the stage three times.

@@claudewrenn3431 The Joyful Noise concerts that have been released in the last year have some long ones where he walks back and forth on the stage as well. I didn't time them, but at least one was over 20 secs.
