The Kinks, one of the most brilliant yet criminally underrated rock bands ever. Ray Davies has never received the credit he deserves as songwriter, and a singer. I saw them live three times in the late '70s & early '80s, and was never disappointed.

I sat in the front row in Melbourne in June '64 at the Beatles concert, then the Stones in Feb '65. Sorry to say never saw perhaps the greatest band of them all: the Kinks; certainly the greatest song writers. And Yes Dave Davies is underrated as a Guitarist!. I still might get to see them as they are the only 60's Band with all members still alive!

Saw them in the late 70s at the Milwaukee Arena. It was right after they released Low Budget: still one of my favorite albums. Went with my girlfriend but most of my buddies didn’t want to go. Didn’t share my appreciation for them. They didn’t even sell out the relatively small venue but they put on a great show. My girlfriend became a fan.

The Kinks were such a special voice through the 60s & 70s. IMO Ray is a master songwriter, eclipsing Lennon/McCartney and the Glimmer Twins. Waterloo Sunset was the quintessential pop song of the era. BTW, Dave is an under-appreciated guitarist. He was the first one with metal chops.

I was lucky enough to see The Kinks, along with The Blaster, in LA. I firget what year. But I do know it was sometime in the late 80s. I drove all the way from Escondido, CA to their concert on a little bitty Honda 250. Now that I think of it, I believe something was going badly wrong with the bike. Because it shot flames from it. I loved the whole concert!!!!!
