I am almost done with Dave Davies' excellent autobiography "Kink" right now and it has given me a new appreciation for this band. They can't be under rated when they were one of the early Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductees but in my opinion they were more consistant than The Stones or The Who or Pink Floyd. They put out some seriously great music in the late 70s and early 80s

@@luvittodeath7031 Ray Davies, back in the 60s, actually said The Kinks were "pop music" - as in popular music - and called their music "expression." Fun fact: Dave and Ray have been known to get into fights on stage on occasion. I don't know if there's any KZbin footage to back this up but as someone who's followed them since 1980 I know I've heard a few reports here and there. At the end of Dave's guitar solo Ray appears to walk over to him as if to say, 'That was a pretty long solo, don't you think.' Dave glares back as if to say, 'Go ahead. Start anytime.' Then Ray walks away laughing as if to say, 'Forget it. It's not worth it.' Those two had a real love/hate relationship between them.
