The Kinzigtalradweg leads from the main train station Freudenstadt through the Kinzig Valley to the train station in Offenburg, the ideal bike ride with return opportunity via the Kinzig Valley Railway.
My bike tour along the Kinzig starts in Kehl on the Rhine bridge to France. From there it is on this relatively cloudy morning, once to Kinzigmündung in the Rhine. From here on I follow the Kinzig upriver to the Kinzigquelle in Lossburg. The path first leads through the flat and sunny Rhine Valley to Offenburg, where the Kinzig Valley opens. About Ortenberg and Gengenbach it goes past vineyards in the direction of Haslach and Hausach. From Gengenbach I cross many historic old towns, including Schiltach, Wolfach and Alpirsbach with the monastery.
Unfortunately, the weather worsens from Schiltach and from there on, I have to continue long stretches of cycling in rain gear. In pouring rain, I still reach my goal of the day, the Kinzigquelle near Lossburg!
