Parise Wellington I don’t like this thought process, if I’m being completely honest with you. Sure, other people could’ve of prevented the mess that was created (which is why I hated the movie, they just needed to talk honestly and it could’ve been done easy) but Elle made the choice to kiss a guy, knowing she had a boyfriend. Marco isn’t responsible for stopping the kiss when he’s not doing anything wrong, just kissing a girl he likes(for some reason). Also, by that logic, Noah could’ve cheated on her because he watched her cheat on him while a crowd cheered but he didn’t because he loves her. And I just don’t see what Marco sees in Elle, like sure they ddr together but (maybe I wasn’t paying enough attention) what else was there to create such strong feelings? I remember a montage but that’s pretty much it.

Elle doesn’t know what consequences are. She hides everything from her friend and she didn’t respect her best friends relationship, she cheated, she objectified a guy and got him so later she could reject him. And finally was trying to be mature by not being clingy but ended up being a toxic girlfriend who didn’t talk things privately with her bf to set things straight, communication (the mature thing to do). She is not a good role model or example and she gets everything she wants in the end. Its a dumb soon to be trilogy (jeez, hated the first one couldn’t finish the second one)

I get why people say this and it makes sense but if you look at it from their families, the relationship between their moms it’s complicated and complex because of the expectations that have been placed on them since childhood real of perceived. Lee felt bad for Elle in part 2 because of how he treated her in the first movie, their rules were made when then were 6, and Lee was controlling with their rules when he made Elle feel like he would hate her if she did anything else with Noah after he kissed her in the booth. Elle is a people pleaser by nature she doesn’t want to let people down so she’s learned to lie to protect other people’s feelings. Lee and Noah both have anger and control issues, Lee made Noah out to be some evil player when he was jealous of him because one thing Noah didn’t have was Elle. Noah’s made out to be the trope of the bad boy jock, but we don’t know the back story at home why he never had a girlfriend but he’s a player that protects Elle from people who will hurt her. It’s messy but it’s family dynamics that form people’s identity that effects their behavior. Elle is stubborn and bossy she’s surrounded by boys so she doesn’t have any experience with relationships why would she? She was one of the guys, and she didn’t have her mother to explain relationships to her she had Lee and she watched Noah from one side, when Noah’s mom says they’re celebrating his acceptance to Harvard he doesn’t want it to be a big deal he doesn’t want the praise because it won’t be well received. He and Lee’s relationship is messed up because they’ve been compared to one another, maybe by their parents or by one another. All those years Noah didn’t have a friendship like Lee and Elle so he’s left out yet expected to be kind to Elle since she has a crush on him according to his mom, and their dad is rarely seen nor does he speak, that’s a dynamic we don’t know about but we see it. I hope this rant is enough to see it from another perspective, and the cheating situation is rubbed in her face by her peers and Noah has a reputation of being a player. When Elle sees that earring and the texts what was she supposed to think? Who wouldn’t think that? Too Noah lied about what he was done so Elle wouldn’t think he was cheating and being the bad boy people at her school thinks he is, he was smart the entire time and kind he didn’t correct people’s assumptions about him, he was more concerned about college and what he wanted for his life, this age is very confusing for many young people. So back to him and Elle when he said he went to the concert with the guys, and left his phone he lied to protect Elle because he knew she wouldn’t understand him wanting to have a friendship like her and Lee did, that’s mentioned and he brought Chloe home so she and Elle could be friends. It’s how lies backfire when the intentions are good so he couldn’t hate Elle for kissing Marco when he knows why she would when he finds out about the earring, guys know what makes women upset and that’s one of them. This movie’s message is about life and growing up, people have to figure out who they are and what they want, this happens during different transitions of life. That’s how I saw this movie and I didn’t like part 2 as much as the first one because it left things open to too much interpretation, why I’m glad to hear the 3rd one was filmed at the same time. This time people don’t have to wait so long so next year when it’s released I’m hoping they focus on character development and their backstories. Why else introduce new cast and leave it like they did?

This was definitely better than the first one, the only thing I really liked about this movie was the plot line with Rachel, specifically how they brought back an event from the first movie into this one. Where Rachel overhears Lee say he would break up with Rachel if Elle had a problem with their relationship. I didn’t really care for the lil love triangle, cuz I already knew how it’d end. I did really like the message this movie was trying to send about needing letting go. However they messed it up with the ending

Exactly, I definitely thought the second movie was better than the first one. But I really think they would’ve nailed it if she would’ve ended up with Marco because obviously he brought out a different side of her than Noah🤦🏾‍♀️. Idk why movies always keep them with the same person from the first one, like do they not read comments?!?!?!?!🤨 it’s so predictable🤦🏾‍♀️.
