I just started studying to become an electrician and got this plier (the spring version) and it is absolutely wonderful. The only thing I dont like is the crimper, the handles are not long enough to achieve the required force to make a secure conection. Everything else is 100% perfect german engineering. The 1000V handle is soooo confortable, the isolation strippers are so quick and reliable to use. But man, the shears are something of another world. The way it cut thick wire like is nothing, doesnt feel right, Is like you have cheats on. Knipex and Wera make such amazing tools

90% of my electrician work I do with this plier 👍

4:06 Thank you! Mine came so tightly adjusted, I could barely use them one-handed. Thought they were defective. Now they're perfect 🙏

Just bought this amazing tool, because of you. Can't wait to have it in the hand. Love your work. Greetings from Denmark

I Love it, it's absolutely great. I have used it the all day today. And i have enjoyed every cut, strip and bend i have made. Honestly an amazing tool. Although the weather in Denmark is freezing cold right now, i find joy in this tool right now. (Sorry for any misspelling)

I have these with the spring and it's probably the best spring loaded tool I own. The stopper really works (not completely closed but stays put).
@zbnmth3 жыл бұрын
that stopper is intended to only block the scissor bit, so as to be able to quickly strip without accidentally cutting. (if I'm not mistaken)
@HiltonRalphs3 жыл бұрын
@@zbnmth I just checked mine at the office and whilst the stopper keeps the pliers 'almost' closed they are open a bit and this ties up with what you said. You can definitely strip with the stopper in place. Good call.

I enjoy you channel , I’m located in Canada and mostly use German hand tools . My background is somewhat similar to yours , did a lot of Fire and intrusion systems . Now that I’m semi retired , and do a bit of Video , Data, Voice , locksmithing , and access control . Plus general maintenance duties . Tool bag wise , I prefer Veto Pro Pack . For my big items , I mostly roll around with Milwaukee Packout .

Loved the video in the United States. And I also love my Knipex installation pliers. We use the "right-handed" version here in the states. 😁👌

I like the insulated tools, but they're a bit bulky and I feel like I have to be careful with the handles because they can easily get damaged compromising the protection.

I’m prototyping a compact belt holster for Knipex 1 KV tools , will hold Whia Slim line drivers , pliers for electrical installation , x cuts , and needle nose pliers , compact , quick detachable , and cute !

Don´t worry your German accent is probably better than my Welsh accent.😉
@g7eit Жыл бұрын
So I’ve got to blame the Welsh 😂. Seriously though I’ve been on the fence with these pliers but after seeing your video, I’ve only gone and done it. I got the set with the spring limiter. I’m really looking forward to trying them. If they’re crap, I’ll just blame you 😂. Thanks for your review. Cheers but

1000V handles are more comfortable tan red&blue handles - these shoulders are more pronounced which results in better grip.

Also I have version with spring and it would be great for me, only if the locking mechanism whould NOT engage every time I cut something (shock or hit during rapid closing of pliers is setting the locking mechanism)

Hello Dan, Thank you for useful video. I need a favor. Could you please compare this "Knipex installation pliers" to "Knipex 13 72 8"?. These two looks similar, but "13 72 8" has wider jaws and different cutting blade and more stripping holes. I know "13 72 8" is for American wire gauge, but looks attractive. Regards.

Knipex and Fluke both make amazing tools, but being the top tier brands, they both seem to come off a bit like snob companies. Fluke has had criticism on their stuff on their videos and all they respond with are scripted customer relations replies. Both have similar-feeling product videos. It’s all about the name of their brand for them.

BTW , you are dead on in re: 1KV rated tools . I own both and prefer standard Knipex comfort grip , but duplication is stupid ! I build custom compact tool holsters , time I did a 1KV prototype !

I agree see I'm the opposite I prefer the vde handles but they are harder to fit into a tool bag
