I think this is great, I can't wait to try it! I'm a beginner knitter and my three year old is really wanting me to make her a mermaid blanket so I think this will be not to difficult so thank you!

Thank you so much for this lesson. I don't know if I would of ever tried this without seeing how simple it really is. I love how thorough your tutorials are. I enjoyed this very much :) I have to say when the fly flew by I thought it was in my room at first. I'm glad you mentioned it haha!! Too funny!

Thank you so much for watching and commenting Sharon! Most of knitting is simple. My mother used to say, "If you can knit and purl, you can make anything." I think that's not quite accurate but not far off the mark. She could make anything without batting an eyelash, not realizing all the other skills that she brought to a project.About the fly . . . When I'm sitting at my stool making a video after hours of experimenting and scripting and a fly appears? A person just has to go with nature. This ain't Hollywood, after all.

Loved your video of the scallops. It has taken me a while to find your page again and now l dont seem to be able to watch any of your videos. I think that I can remember how to do the stitch but am not sure of the multiples plus how many. Do you have a written pattern please??? Thank you and loved your video.
@CherylBrunetteTV10 жыл бұрын
Gosh Susan. Thank you for reminding me! I started a handout on it that would go with the video, and got derailed with more programming. I'll put that on my list of to do for this week. Meanwhile I don't know why you can't watch the videos. Try again. They seem to be functioning from my end.

I just posted it above. It had been written for quite some time but I didn't take the time to put it into a pdf and upload it to my website with an annotation. Done now!

Very cool. You always do very nice weave-ins, Cheryl, but I would weave the tails in as I picked up the row. Is there a reason I shouldn't do that with this? Thanks again for a great presentation with the important technical details. Gotta love the fly!
@CherylBrunetteTV10 жыл бұрын
This is something I might try Mary but I am old(ish) and only focus on one issue at a time when I'm solving a puzzle. I have been known to knit in the ends as I go along, especially in stranding, and I would be willing to try it here but it has to look good because I'm thinking afghan or baby blanket. I tried weaving in the ends as I went along with the kids' wedding afghan and didn't like the look so I wove them in by hand later. Usually I'm not quite so picky but . . . well . . . it was a momma's wedding gift. Nonetheless, this is a great suggestion.

Knitting with Cheryl Brunette Great decision on weaving them in later for a nice backside. I think this motif has a lot of potential. I'm thinking small YO eyelet lace. Thanks, again!

Could you make two pieces and sew them together so that way there are two scalloped opposite edges? Do you think that would work or would the seam be too thick?
@CherylBrunetteTV10 жыл бұрын
You could certainly try it, and your seam could be even less thick than picking up the edge. I think it might work well but could not say for certain unless I did it myself. If you do try it I hope you will post your results so that all of us can learn from them. Did you see that I posted a follow-up video to fill in those upper gaps? Knitted Modular Scallops-Part 2
