Hi Leanne. This is Linda of the future. I’m two years late to the party, but I’m retired and other than regular house chores, cooking duties, and some family things I spend my time knitting, reading, and watching podcasts. Lovely to get to start watching your episodes from the beginning. Salam wa sa’aadah

Hello Bonjour Leanne! Im Marie José from Petit Paquetville News Brunswick Canada of course lol !I’m so excited to have found you, yes I knew I’m late but hey, better late than never 😂. I’m a maniac knitter lol …. well I do other crafts too like crochet, bobbin lace making( dentelle aux fuseaux), hand sewing etc… been literally “hooked” with fibres when my ex mother in law challenged me to make the lace of my wedding dress… and if I did it she would see my dress lol … of course I did it though I didn’t know anything about crocheting and but the Tom boy in me loved challenges lol…. Anyway all that started 40 ish years ago …. Ouch lol… I teach all these beautiful techniques and I even thought 💭 about having my own channel too after the 2 cancers that are attacking my right knee and tibia have been removed from my body…. I have a silly question it’s been a while since my last flight so…. here it is lol… since 9/11 I was certain that knitting needles crochet hooks ( petit ciseaux) would be illegal in the plane, like it is in the hospitals because they could become a weapon 🤷♀️🤷♀️ I’m actually in Bathurst hospital, soon to be transferred either to Caraquet hospital or Miramichi ‘s hospital . Thank you so much for this channel of yours 👍 safe travels!

I'm working my way through the episodes, having started in early 2023. Lots to see! I'm with you about monogamous knitting; one thing at a time is how my focus works, and I get a bit anxious if I have too many things on the go at once. That said, I have about a dozen projects ready to go or queued up in Ravelry, so all I have to do is start once I've done the tidy-up from the recent finish. :)

Hi Wendy! Thanks for trekking all the way back to my beginning episodes! I am so grateful I took a chance and started this channel - the community has been UNBELIEVABLY wonderful and supportive. I remember when I was 18 and wondering what I was going to do with my life and I love travel and for a time was going to pursue applying for travel "school" to be a flight attendant (early 1990s). it didn't happen, but how fun to watch your adventures! I take my knitting with me especially on overseas 8+ hour flights across the Atlantic but I seem to be the only one that I see with yarn and sticks/hook. No one strikes up a conversation on the planes or in the airport...maybe the "pandemic world" or they just think I am a nut? hahaha. Safe travels! I look forward to catching up on your episodes.

Wrist pain and being a monogamous knitter. I was a monogamous knitter who started developing wrist pain. I learned two things. It is best to not be monogamous with knitting because working on different sizes needles and different weight projects for shorter periods of time is better than working on the the same project whennit comes to pain. I now have 2 or 3 projects on the go. I also changes from English knitting to Norwegian knitting. This combination has helped me a lot.

i agree, I find switching projects keep tennis elbow away. I tried continental but can only do that when I am doing color work. I just found you through Amy Palko's recommendation. Love your podcast and love to hear about your travels in our beautiful country. I'm from Vancouver Island. I would also love to hear more about your morning routine ie: journalling, meditation and what bought you to this grounding ritual and how it has served you in your life.

My friend Pam recommended your channel and I love it!! Also being a flight attendant is too cool. I tried applying once but maybe in the future I would give it another go

Thank you so much (and thanks to Pam!) Being a flight attendant is the perfect job for me. I sleep really well away from home, my children are grown up, I genuinely like people, and love to travel. It requires discipline (mental and physical) and there is a lot more technical information and training involved than one would think - I cannot see myself switching careers any time soon.

I just found you by accident and immediately subscribed. I am a curious polygamous knitter from Germany. I do some exercises to prevent wrist pain, esp. when using needles thicker than a EU 3.5. I turnen 49 may 21rst so I thinnk, that is enough a reason to follow your knitting adventures! Best wishes from Germany Daniela

So happy I found your lovely podcast!! My daughter is a captain for Republic Airlines. She is not a knitter but she grew up with a Mom who is obsessed with knitting.😂 I tend to work on one thing at a time, even though I have projects in bags waiting…. Thank you for this and as always I am late to the party…. I am glad you continued and I will work my way through you episodes.

Hi. Stumbled upon your podcast today. I watched episode 5 first and am binge watching the rest. I left you a nice long comment on the St. Johns episode, but it disappeared. Maybe KZbin removed it because I said the name of the pattern I am working on. I don’t know, and don’t have the energy to rewrite it. Maybe they let you see it anyways. Loving the podcast.

Hello 👋🏼 R K! Ugh that’s the worst when you compose a long message and poof it disappears. I certainly appreciate that and it’s happened to me too many times. Thank you for saying hello and joining me in my travels. I am honestly very pleased that the quality of my filming and the sound seems to be improving with each attempt. Have a wonderful week!

@@theknittystew Thanks. I was just saying that I live in Calgary too. The far NW. Only since 2020 though. We have that in common and the fact that I also recently purchased the Rananculus pattern. I thought podcasters were saying Ridonculous. LOL. I am knitting my first sweater right now. I am a born again knitter. I used to knit, lost my mojo, left knitting for weaving, reinvented my knitting style and am in love again. I love knitting socks on 5 dpns. Am doing this “comfort sweater” on 2 circs. Having a great time knitting and listening to podcasts. I love yours. Glad I found it.

@@theknittystew That would be great. Also fyi I own the green iphone 13 pro x. LOL. Got it a few of weeks ago. It does take amazing photos. Try taking a photo of fire flames and you will be amazed at the definition.

P.S. Only a weather hardy Canadian would refer to -17 celsius as “chilly”. Uff
@lorainemacdonald5172 жыл бұрын
I was always afraid that I would have my knitting needles taken from me.
@theknittystew2 жыл бұрын
Hi Loraine! Having our needles taken would be our worst nightmare. Within Canada you should be a-okay!
@karinberryman20092 жыл бұрын
It’s-17C and you call it ‘chilly’? It’s winter (between 3 - 14C) here in Melbourne 🇦🇺 and my spouse and I don’t go out without scarf and gloves.
@theknittystew2 жыл бұрын
Haha! It’s true -17C is chilly and -25C to -30C would be considered f-ing cold. 😆
